Why would it be an issue? I actually think it can be a wise thing to do.
For example, when determining my position on the RCC I did not base my judgment on soundbites and propaganda. I went to the Vatican's own website to read their own documents and their own explanations. So, in the course of a discussion on BB, or elsewhere, I can look back to a source that the other person would see as credible.
Can you show an example where it would be unreasonable?
I can't think of one myself but some would like to use this as a tool to discredit whatever they don't like. Others like to pretend to be "fair" when they just like to be contrary.
