I watched the debate and I thought Ryan "won", but mostly because of his demeanor and not really because of anything he said. He did get some good points across but Biden had pretty good rebuttals.

Biden's constant grinning and eye rolling was annoying. I also thought his smiling while condescendingly explaining that Iran isn't close to having a bomb because they currently don't have a container to put enriched uranium into to form a weapon was irresponsible.

In the battle of closing statements--a clear win by Ryan.

If I were going to split 100 points I'd give it Ryan 52%, Biden 48%.

Here's what I found very interesting. CNN replayed the debate at 11:00 (central). In the replay they had a real-time graph at the bottom of the screen showing the reactions of undecided voters to the debate as it unfolded. As the candidates spoke the graph would go upwards if the viewers thought positively about the things being said, and the graph would go downwards if they thought negatively about what was being said. I re-watched the first half hour of the debate keeping my eye on the rolling graph. Ryan was almost always in positive territory on the graph! Biden was mostly neutral or slightly negative and at times ventured into positive graph territory. Judging by that methodology Ryan won the debate big time.

In that little portion it is hard to determine the context. I looked at your link and could not find it can you place more context in the post.

According to the CIA Factbook, Syria's area is one tenth that of Libya, and Syria's population is four times that of Libya.

I didn't watch the debate myself. Was our long time support of Islamic extremists ever questioned?

Click on the link again. Once you get the page loaded, type CTRL-F which will bring up your browser's search box. Type in "fifth" in the search box and it should find the exact spot in the document.

I worked on my guitar project. Building a Danocaster. That's a Telecaster with Danelectro lipstick tube pickups and a four way switch. The fourth position wires the pickups in series. Big boost in output and they act like a humbucker!

    Can you say TWANG?

These debates are a huge waste of time and money Imho. They all claim to be different but they all serve the same international bankers and transnational corporations. How anyone can still believe they will make this country a better for us after they've helped the criminal elite rob us blind for decades is a mystery to me. Some folks just can't enough of being led around by the nose I reckon.

Evidently it's a matter of left vs right again. Some folks would rather be lied too and ripped off by lefties while some folks would rather be lied too and ripped off by righties.

I don't care much for being lied too and ripped off by either side. Guess that makes me the crazy one huh? I do kind of get a kick out of reading the replies from the people who take this stuff serious though. They'll say and do anything to be screwed over by a tyrant from their own party rather than being screwed over by a tyrant from the opposition party.

It ain't about making things better for you and me folks it's about making things easier for the global bankers and corporations to suck the life blood out this country. They know they can't get everyone to go along with it at the same time but they can get half of us to go along with it at any one time and that's enough. That's why they own both horses in the race.

Get it through your heads we're screwed either way. Cheering for the guy about to screw you over doesn't make you a winner it makes you a sap.

Wow. I just built the little woman a Thinline Telecaster, Green Dragonburst, with the Fender Texas Special pickups. I daresay I CAN say "twang".

Always loved the Danelectros but they don't stand up to a night of hard playing. The Lipstick pickups on a nice slab guitar seems like the perfect solution.

Pick on, Poncho. And GO ORIOLES!!!!!

I thought Ryan won, but I am biased toward Republicans.

I spoke to several people at work today, and surprisingly (to me) they favored Ryan. They felt Biden was very rude and pushy. This was surprising because most folks where I live are very liberal and almost always support the Democrats.

Good summary. I think Biden did better than Obama in comparison, but Ryan won.

Biden behaved like a crude and rude jerk. I pity his wife.

I think both men did a fine job of representing their ticket. Although poor old Ryan had to defend things that his boss said. Also the fact that Mitt's dad was a car guy does NOT make Mitt a car guy.
