Gleanings In The Godhead
The Leadership of Christ
If we find by experience that Christ's yoke is easy and His burden is light , then what must be said of a vast number of professing Christians who , by by their own conduct , often avow that the Lord's service is burdensome ? Though members of evangelical churches , may we conclude that they are of the class who have a name that they live , and yet are dead ( Revelation 3:1 ) ? Certainly we cannot allow that Christ made a false prediction of His yoke . Then only one alternative is left . We are obliged to regard as strangers to godliness those who find a life of communion with the Lord and devotedness to His service dull or irksome .
