A biblical example of this:
Psalm 136
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
4 to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
7 who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
8 the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.
10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.
13 to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.
16 to him who led his people through the desert,
His love endures forever.
17 who struck down great kings,
His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings—
His love endures forever.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites
His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan—
His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel;
His love endures forever.
23 to the One who remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies,
His love endures forever.
25 and who gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.

So we know that "new age" theology dates back at least to Psalm 136 :)
-
-
Ps. 14:1, "The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good." -
Like this ...
Pr 18:2
¶ A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
Or this;
Pr 13:16
¶ Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.
Once you have learned what a fool IS; then come back to me. You really ought to search out a thing before you speak it. -
You may call it deliberately lying if you want, it is your perogative to protest when someone brings Scripture to bear on your actions. Prostesting, however, does not negate the fact that the Scripture posted is relevant to the discussion as I see it progressing.
In addition; I do not see bro. Rufus lying about Rick Warren. As has been stated time and again, the man (Warren) is a wolf in sheep's clothing and ought not be given credence.
What does Scripture say about the world loving its own? Warren could not have been so popular with his books if he was speaking the Truth of Christ.
Joh 3:19
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
The very fact that Warren is so popular with the world illustrates that he is not what he purports to be. Therefore; howoooooo disguised as baa baa baaa. -

Here's Mr. Warren on Larry King in 2005...
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0512/02/lkl.01.html
Notice his gay friendly, Catholic friendly, "Billy Graham was my mentor" message. The world loves those messages.
Folks like Warren seem to always be invited back to the world's television programming. However, what you won't typically find on Fox or Larry King is a KJV, Gospel-preaching, hell-fire, repent for judgement is upon this land kind of preacher. The world doesn't like that. -
I'm done with this thread. It's obvious the agenda that is taking place, and the one behind it. Sad :tear:
-
Not once does he say "Gay is OK." You're slanting the truth here. -
-
KING: Does God love you if you don't believe in Christ?
WARREN: God loves everybody. There's no doubt about that. He'll never stop loving you.
This is a diluted message and suggests that people can go on in their unbelief and all is well because God loves them.
King says that Mormons preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Warren changes the topic to how great Catholics are. Warren does not separate from Mormons nor Catholics but presents a pretty universalist/ecumenical view.

AIDS is not a gay plague... Now you are sounding like Pat Robertson.
Now there's a thread... "Which is worse, Pat or Rick?
And AIDS cannot be eradicated as you say... It has went too far now.
I am sorry you feel God doesn't love everybody... even the homosexual down the street, because He gave his only begotten son for everyone.
And in the words of Bill Gaither, "If that isn't Love" Then what is?
OoOoOoPs I mentioned Bill... That other Gay lover! -
-
God loved Nineveh enough to send a preacher.
-
I wish those two conditions would happen...but even if they do, it would not eradicate AIDS.
I'm not expecting you to like Rick Warren...but I still maintain that you're twisting what he says.
It is possible for someone to be other than a

Maybe I don't holler when I preach. Maybe I don't wear a suit. Hawaiian shirt, anyone? Maybe my music differs from yours. Maybe my clientele looks different than yours.
God used an amazing variety of preachers over the years. There are biblical prophets who dwelled mostly on God's judgement. Others dwelled on His mercy. They're both right.
If God could use all types then, why not now? Jesus is still being preached as the Way... -
