Tips from the book of Daniel for dealing with a tyrant.
    We Will Not Bow Down

"There was a king of Babylon named Nebuchadnezzar. He was a mighty king, and when he issued an order, he meant business. Nebuchadnezzar was a narcissistic maniac who made everything about him. He made a golden tower, and he ordered that everybody under the reign of his kingship had to bow.

One day, Nebuchadnezzar called in those he had appointed and the ones he had pardoned, the governors and the sheriffs. He had a dedicatory service for his golden image, and he was trying to make sure that he wouldn’t have to lie about those who attended his inauguration.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three young Hebrew men, represent the choices faced by those who must either support a repressive regime or face certain death. Nebuchadnezzar wanted them to bow—forget their heritage, forget their legacy, forget their journey, forget their God, forget their rights, and bow down. He wanted everyone around him to feel less than him, because he had his own inferiority complex.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to accept the religion of the king, the religion of greed, racism, and hate.

The name Nebuchadnezzar literally means “one who will do anything to protect his power.” That’s why Nebuchadnezzar built his towers. He built his tower more than 10 stories tall. Nebuchadnezzar put his name on his tower. Everything he built, he put his name on it, because he was a narcissistic maniac. And then he put gold on his tower, and he promised that he, and only he, could make Babylon great again.

Whenever we take a stand and choose not to bow, it does something to the heart of God. When God knows that our serving God is not predicated on knowing we’re going to be delivered, God starts shaking on the throne. When we refuse to bow, it moves God. God doesn’t keep them from being thrown in the fiery furnace. God decides instead to go in with them. God was the fourth one in the fire. God didn’t save them by keeping them out of the fire. God saved them in the fire.

It’s not just about a president, it’s about an entire web of money and influence that has been working to tie up American democracy forever."

We won. Get over it. You will bow.

You embarrass yourself and demean God's word by using it for your political rants.

We would have won by far more if Obama, Hillary and the FBI didn't tamper with the election.

"You" and the Trumpites are cast in the role of Babylon under King Nebuchadnezzar aka Trump. In case you didn't know it they were ultimately defeated by the forces of those who stood with Jehovah, the Lord God Almighty. he will once again triumpmph over this new tyrant named Trump.

The only ones to bow the knee do it when the National Anthem music is played.

That you can use such verbiage without fear of the Gulag or firing squad, disproves your statement. My wife grew up in the Soviet Union as an Evangelical Christian-Baptist. She can tell you tales of tyranny.

    AMEN, AMEN, and AMEN!!!
I find it such hypocrisy that the left claims Trump is so "Stalinesque/Hitleresque/dictatorish etc., yet they are so willing to denigrate the one who wields such power that he could yell "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS" and it would be a done deal.

Best way to describe this delusion (IMHO) is that the libs brains never matured beyond the 5YO development stage.

Your post is evidence that reality is an unknown facet of the left!!

Repeatedly in the WSJ, it's been pointed out that America hasn't seen this level of political rhetoric since the days of Hamilton v. Jefferson. (See Alien and Sedition Acts)

I appreciate the freedoms created by our founders and will fight to preserve them. I'm as patriotic as anyone. However, I will alway put my citizenship in the Kingdom of God ahead of my citizenship in America.

Keep Jesus Out of Your Socialism

The headline of the full-page ad asks, "What Would Jesus Cut?—A budget is a moral document." The text continues, "Our faith tells us that the moral test of a society is how it treats the poor."

The ad was produced by Sojourners, a self-described "evangelical" organization whose slogan is "Faith in Action for Social Justice." The ad was signed by Sojourners president Jim Wallis and more than two dozen Religious Left pastors, theologians, and activists. They urge our legislators to ask themselves, "What would Jesus cut?" from the federal budget.

How would you answer that question? My answer would be, "It's a nonsense question. Your premise is faulty. Your priorities are not His priorities."

Jesus had many opportunities to confront the Roman government about its spending priorities. It was, after all, one of the most brutal regimes in history. If the question "What would Jesus cut?" has any biblical relevance, we should be able to cite instances where Jesus lectured the Roman oppressors the same way the Religious Left lectures America.

Keep Jesus Out of Your Socialism (Part 2)

In part one of this series, I made clear, from the words of Jesus and the New Testament, that ministering to the poor and the needy among us is the work of Christian individuals and the church, not the secular government. Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. . . ." Today's Religious Left wants to change that to, "He has anointed the federal government to preach good news to the poor."

The Christian gospel is a message of salvation, not a message of income redistribution and raising our neighbor's taxes. Jesus said that the way to serve the poor is by giving generously of our own resources. "But when you give a banquet," He said in Luke 14, "invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

The Religious Left is very generous—with other people's money. In fact, I believe the founder of the Religious Left was none other than Judas Iscariot. When Mary, the sister of Lazarus, anointed Jesus with costly perfume just days before the crucifixion, Judas lectured her and said, "Why wasn't this perfume sold and the money given to the poor?"

Notice that Judas put on a show of caring for the poor—even though the money was Mary's, not his! The motives of Judas, John 12:6 tells us, were corrupt and self-centered—and Jesus responded with a stinging rebuke.

I think the religious left and their doctrine of the full belly mishandle their analogies constantly. It is as if they really don't understand Scripture and go off on tangents. In this thread, it is crazy to say that Trump is persecuting Jews when he has a Jewish daughter and Jewish grandchildren. The Israelis are going to name a subway stop after Trump because of his friendship with them.

At any rate Nebuchadnezzar saw the light and worshipped the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

After seven years of insanity, so maybe not the best illustration. (Though it shows how hard it is for many of us - starting with me - to pay heed to what God has said. As with the story of the farmer's stubborn donkey, sometimes it takes a club to the head to get our attention.)
