I have been off line for a while as my town has had its worst flood ever. We were gifted with a month of rain in 24 hrs, and the Whanganui River peaked at 9 metres at high tide on Saturday night.
If anyone cares to see photos ....FaceBook Wanganui Chronicle has a number. I use to live on the river side road, and the near vertical cliff slipped rather badly....I would have been evacuated, surprisingly there has been no deaths. The Main Street lower end has been badly affected, and although I just had Internet problems, a lot of folk were without power.....it is very very cold at present.
The North Island has been affected with the deluge, the South Island is snowed in.
