To address some of your additional questions.....
In our SS class (adult couples) we found we were wasting a lot of time talking about doing various things for each other etc.
We formed small groups within our class to address various issues.
Such as a fellowship person, a person to take care of meals (for sick, etc.), a person to follow up with members who were absent, a person to do cards for the ill or for couples who had lost a family member etc.
This has worked out great for us, the person in charge of each thing reports to the teacher, this removes a lot of the burden from him.
This also allows everyone in the class to get involved.
We are mostly a class where both the husbands and wives work, so not a lot of extra time for one person to absorb everything.
