I've got a friend who goes to a public college. I wouldn't ever want to go to a public university... or a public school either.

Alycia--don't totally knock public university. It's a great place to strengthen your faith and a great excercise in being in the world and not of the world. I didnt want to be there at first, and I missed out on so much by hating it. Now that I've let God open my heart to loving my prfs and the people I come in contact with, I have learned so much. I don't think I'd have learned some of these lessons at a Christian School. I know that just because one is at a Christian school does not mean that everyone is Christian. But, there, it is socially acceptable to live for God. At my school, Profs. put you down for admitting that you need a savior. I've learned more about praying for those who "spitefully use me" than I ever would if I'd gone where I wanted to.
So, that said..If you feel called to a Christian school, go! But if you feel God calling you to a mission field in the form of a Public university, don't fight Him. You will learn real life lessons anywhere you go if you open your heart to Him.

my pastor's wife says you should complete at least one year of a good bible college. Then if you feel the Lord leading you else where, then go.

Kayla, what if God is leading you to a Public University? I would think that the worst thing you could do would be to go where He isn't leading.

My pastor's wife says to follow what you know God is calling you to do, even if you don't want to do it.

I'm sure I want to go to a Bible school, Grace, I've prayed about it. It is where God is leading me to go. Not that I don't totally disaprove of secular schools, it's just that I am not going to one myself.

I surrenderd my life to Christ about a year ago and I told Him that I will do what ever He wants me to do. He has called me in the Ministry, which I thank Him for everyday. I plan to go to Norris Bible Baptist Seminary and marry my boyfriend who was called to be a missionary to Africa when he was in 5th grade. I feel that God's leading me to simply be the best Christian wife and mother I can be. Therefore that is what I will be when I grow up.

Kayla~ Great that you have suck a clear sense of where God is leading you. Go for it and do your best. Jim Elliot once said "Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God."

Hey westcoast is great but why go for great when you can have the best..J/K I'm a student at HBBC its such a huge blessin to be a part of something like this. I'm from california I grow up about an hour or so from W.C. and theres alot of great things out there its right on I want to go to there Leadership conferince this summer but there is nothing like being where the shout hasnt died out under the spout where the glory comes out!! Hey you guys that know about the greatest school on earth you also know about "glory bound" well my room-mate sings bass for them so thats cool. To be real you know all that truly matters is where God wants you and if He dosent want you here well your missing out j/k then dont come out here. This may sound selfish oh well I dont want somebody to come here out of the will God because that will mess uo the spirit and God is doing things out here. If God wants you at W.C. then by all means go by all means make iy happen if not come out out and be a part of the Heartland family. Hey look up our new website Heartlandbaptist.edu One last thing will you guys pray for me I get to preach for the sunday school class I work in.

After finishing highschool (about 18 months to go PRAISE GOD! ) I intend to, God willing, attend Tabernacle Baptist College and get my education degree. I hope to work in homes for troubled teens. But for the grace of God, I was headed to one of these homes...as a troubled teen! I want young people to know that God cares for them, can change them and use them. I am a firm believer that America's youth needs to be reached for God.
I feel that God has called me to be a wife to someone in the ministry, and I hope to have a big family, raised for the glory of God, and that, I know is the most important of what I'll do when I "grow up"!

I'm 20. Ever since I was 14 years old, I knew that God wanted me in the ministry. I quit the public school so I could homeschool myself, and I focused on Bible, English, Theology/Philosophy, etc. I attended Faith Baptist Bible College for a year and a half. Everything was going along as I thought it should. Then God took my hearing (autoimmune inner ear disorder) and my balance, and my eye health (still have good eyesight). I couldn't continue school because I was deaf. I've been deaf for the past year, until December when I had cochlear implant surgery, and I can hear GREAT now!!

I never presumed to have a firm grasp on what specific ministry God had in store for me. But now, its pretty clear. My soon-to-be wife and I are going to start an in-home daycare. Probably doesn't seem like much of a ministry...Its been said that the only class of people on earth that have weilded more power than any kings, princes or governments....is mothers. Today, so many mothers relinquish that power to mold their children to public schools which mold them in the ways of humanism.

Our burden is to impact as many children through daycare throughout our lives as we can. Obviously, too, this is a self-supporting ministry! The parents will pay us to give their kids a good and loving and godly environment. We'll take care of babies and will even teach some pre-school (she will have her Early Childhood Ed. Degree soon).

I also think I ought to write books---about theology. God puts walls in your path sometime so that you don't go off the cliff, but find the paradise to your right or left! He's too good to us.
