Hello all:
There seems to have been some misinformation floating around concerning what is and what is not a Southern Baptist affiliated college, university, or seminary.
I would like to ask that question of all who are either familiar with or unfamiliar with the SBC. Do you really know what an SBC school is? or what it looks like? I trow not?
I will take it upon myself not as an "expert" but as a "member of the family" to dialogue--and yes to correct such misunderstandings if anyone would like to join in the discussion.
Let me hear from you real soon now y'all hear!?

Thank you so much for the insightful web link. It is easy for us to see but not so much for others. I hope those who do not know what and who we are about will give a look see to that post.
I guess if you are an outsider, even a fundamentalist independent Baptist, it might be hard to understand out inner workings. That is one of our glories--we have this voluntary cohesion around missions, evangelism, education, and social ministry.
I for one am glad to be in this family.

If we do not fund it, if we do not have members on the board of the school it is not an SBC school. There are some schools that are associated with state conventions but that does not make them an SBC school.
And SBC school is one that is funded by the SBC, overseen by the SBC, was created by and exists for the purpose of educating SBC students. Affiliation is not the same thing as being an SBC school. As indicated by the link given. -
