What would really be funny is if Trump ran as a democrat.

 

President Clinton was impeached for perjury. Not convicted but I wouldn't call that impunity.

 

I understand but if you were indicted for a crime and tried but found innocent would you say you got away with that crime with impunity?

 

I just see the silent Majoprity, those still for some morals and not for abortion and gay weddings and liberal big govt are starting to wake up, as they were all waiting to have someone of a strong backbone support their causes!

 

In a political sense he was found "innocent", but impeachment is not a legal process, it's a political one. He was guilty and everyone knew it, even democrats. But they didn't want to remove him from office for it.

Legally, on his last day in office, he plea bargained to avoid being indicted and tried. IOW he pled guilty to perjury and lost his ability to practice law for 5 years and paid a $25,000 fine.

 

Yes, but also there were times when the Lord relented long enough to have a godly ruler lead a temporary blessing for the people! Like a King Hezekiah...

 

Amen, as Jesus alone is the real leader and ruler of this world!

 

He was impeached (indicted) but not found guilty by the Senate.

 

That's the process. He was not found guilty.

Mr. Clinton's Last Deal


In a sad coda to his tumultuous presidency, Bill Clinton used his final full day in office yesterday to bring legal closure and a belated measure of candor to the scandal that will forever mar his record. Under what amounts to a plea-bargain deal with the independent counsel Robert Ray, Mr. Clinton admitted for the first time to ''testifying falsely'' when he denied an affair with Monica Lewinsky during a deposition in the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit. Most people will properly see that as an admission that he lied under oath, notwithstanding the semantic quibbling of Mr. Clinton's lawyer, David Kendall.

As part of the deal, Mr. Clinton also accepted a five-year suspension of his license to practice law in Arkansas and agreed to pay a $25,000 fine. In exchange, Mr. Ray has agreed to close his investigation without filing any criminal charges against Mr. Clinton for perjury or obstruction of justice.

 

He was convicted of a felony in Arkansas and fined and disbarred. So Clinton is a convicted felon.
