    One doesn't have to read the OT very close to understand that God elected very few of mankind from Adam to Abraham to being about his purpose which was purposed before it was said "Let there be light". Then beginning with Abraham, Issac and Jacob he begin to call a people yet even then a minority among all the people of the earth. Take the seven thousand in 1 Kings 19:18,
    Romans 11:4 It wasn't like this was seven thousand exceptional men but that God reserved them unto himself.

    It was then about God's election and it is today about God electing.
