Does anyone know what the rates are for healthcare coverage according to your income?
I see a lot of chatter on FB from those supporting the Obamacare saying that it is free. At what level is it "free" (to them anyways, someone is paying) ? Are these folks signing up today going to get an eye opener when they are told what price (not free) they are eligible for?
Nothing in health care is really free -- someone, somewhere has to pay. In fact, doctors note many government programs pay too little for preventive care to make it widely available. It is going to get worse with the Great Pretender's ACA. Why should I pay more for my private health insurance plan, plus pay taxes to support this corrupt abortion of a program, while someone gets "free" healthcare?
Maybe they can come mow my lawn to even things out.
If the state has opted for expanded Medicaid, people can get an application from their local Department of Health and Human Services and see if they qualify, or simply look up the income guidelines online at the DHS website. I wouldn't recommend having a thing to do with that agency, but if you want Medicaid, that's who you go to. Just giving the information.
I plugged into OR site and for 35000and two people it was 200 plus.
The fed website said free until this week when it became affordable.
The question is what is the tax credit thing at the end of the year.
Is the 200 actual or total after tax credit meaning the monthly is much higher but the average is 200?
And they did not tell me which of the plans/deductable I would get.
Well that is what we are all waiting for, those who are trying to find out are not having much success. and BTW, it seems most of it's supporters are under the impression that it is free according to the chatter I am hearing, and from people I know are making 50-60000 plus per year.
Ok, I tried it again and it worked. It states I will have to pay 270$ per month ($3249peryear) for a Bronze plan, don't know what that covers, I doubt much.
So right now I have no insurance because I can't afford to get onto my wifes plan (she has good insurance) which would cost me $300 per month.
So the government is going to force me to pay what I cannot pay or I would already have it. So where is that money coming from? My food bill? Electric?
That's the problem a lot of uninsured people are facing. Where is the money going to come from?
They figure the amount from gross pay, but do not take into account that people actually have taxes and bills to pay, that sometimes you need to replace or repair a vehicle, replace tires, call a plumber, help a kid buy college books, pay school fees, buy a pair of glasses, etc.. And got a lawyer on retainer? Kid need braces? I have one who medically needed contacts to wear WITH glasses, that was expensive.
Shoot, just in school district taxes and then in school fees and paying $89 a pop for AP tests (four each kid on average a year if your kid is an AP student) and for the SAT and then hundreds in other fees, it's easy to pay well over $10,000 a year just for free education for your kids.
So gross income isn't as much as it sounds like for a number of people!
