A blind man can see what is going on. The Republican's have been stonewalling and didn't even bother to show for this evenings negotiations. McCain has been quite since his "save the country" arrival on the hill.
Mark my words, McCain will have a miracle plan in the morning that everyone is supposed to love and pass in time for him to make the debates. The White House will go for it and his republican colleagues will go for it but the Dem's (except Leiberman) won't vote because it's McCain's plan.
Now if Obama is smart, his staff will be working all night also. Now the last time Obama was going to discuss his plan at 11, McCain was on the tube on 7 saying a lot of the things Obama had been saying. This means in order for Obama to beat him at his own game, he will have to be on the tube at 6.
My new idea, why don't they put something on the Nov 4 ballot and let us vote it down?
What is the McCain Miracle Plan

I cautioned yesterday about the hazards of Senator McCain injecting presidential politics into this situation. I have been proven correct.
-
Are we the people supposed to fall for this? -
Watching Larry king, a conservative congresswoman says the Republicans are calling for LESS regulation and bigger tax exemption for the banks. This should encourage the larger banks to buy the smaller struggling banks and fix the economy without spending a dime of tax payers money.
Would that work?
Could the solution be so simple? -
Obama is said to leave the Hill in 50 minutes. Between the time obama leaves and the debate we'll see the great McCain save the nation.
Any bets how he will do it?
I say he has a plan that is radical but Paulsin and the conservatives will get behind with full force.
EDITED to ADD: or maybe the bomb will be at tonights debate when he says, "i have been in DC trying to work with both sides of the isle to get us an acceptable plan. Were were you Mr Obama, practicing for a debate?"
i think that would be on an atomic level if he drops that one. -
I guess if we need Obama's help we can just give him a call...
-
It is interesting to me that democrats think that McCain is supposed to have the solution to this - all on his own.
And that McCain wanting to work on it is "presidential politics".
While the best that Obama has to say is that "we need to do this the smart way".
Whatever that is. -
Now my question to all of that was that if the potential for making 6 Trillion (yes that's Trillion with a T) exists then why aren't the big money investors lining up? Then of course Warren Buffet jumped in with his 5 Billion dollar investment in Goldman Sacks. Of course no individual investor has 800 Billion dollars, but groups of them do. -
I'm left wondering why Obama doesn't have any specifics to offer solution wise in this.
Considering that he has the former execs of Fannie and Freddie as economic advisors he should be on the inside track and way out ahead of McCain on the situation.
Oh wait - he doesn't want to remind of that - those guys being crooks and all.
Never mind. -
-
The only real solution is to abolish the Federal Reserve and and return to a constitutional money system. But I'm sure either McCain or Obama or McCain and Obama can easily sell us another plan to bailout what ought to be outlawed instead.

Calls are coming into congress 100 to 1 against this bailout. November ain't shaping up to be very pretty. Are you sure you want to be a politician right now ?
-
The democrats can do this all by themselves but aren't willing to because they know that the taxpayers aren't in agreement with it.
The democrats want to be able to blame the Republicans when it proves to be a huge waste of taxpayers money.
And what did I hear? The democrats want 20% of the bail out money to go to ACORN? :BangHead: -

Since they're tied to voter fraud very recently, in Florida, and it benefits dems, I'm sure you are fine with it.

....ACORN admits that they had a case of voter fraud happen this week in Seminole County, but say they have since fired that employee and the faulty registration has been thrown out.
But this has caused the RNC to question ACORN's registration practices....

McCain did propose a plan last night but he didn't push it at all. He buckled when the debate commission said "if Obama gets a free town hall meeting it's McCains own fault. He was invited".
All in all the last few days was a wash. Obama won the debate stalemate but McCain took unanswered shots in the debates. We'll see what the polls say. -
McCain is in DC and Obama is back on the trail. This means Obama is putting his hopes in the normal campaign process and McCain is still trying to sway the popular opinion on him and the economy by receiving the credit for either;
1. He is going after the credit for bringing both sides of the isle together in talks so an agreement can be meet.
2. He is still going to push his plan as the foundation of the final solution.
3. He is going after the "I put country ahead of myself" vote.
The question is where is Palin? I appreciate what McCain is doing but one person shouldn't stop a parade. Will we have a veep we can count on to carry the baton if something happens to McCain? This would be a good time to show us she can. He could also have her on the Hill being the "barracuda" or "maverick jr" as presented to the people. Her absence is very troubling this close to the election.
