“Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.” Colossians 2:20–23 (KJV 1900)

“Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” Romans 14:22–23 (KJV 1900)

The Baptists I knew at a young age were very legalistic. They ignored Bible ethics altogether and considered themselves holy if they didn't drink beer. Go to movies. Dance, or listen to Elvis. We used to ask if we wanted to see a certain movie? Or catch it on TV with the Baptists?

Paul says you can end up sinning if you think drinking beer is a sin. Even though it is not. Why? Because you cannot believe in what you are doing and that is sin.

    I avoid exercise.

The Bible doesn’t consider it very profitable.

    My thoughts...

    Sin:
    -Attend a hom0sexu@l wedding
-Dating non-Christians and dating in general
    -Gluttony
    -Bossy wives
    -Wearing dresses above the knee
-Wife working outside of home unless absolutely unavoidable
-Drinking any coke except for Dr. Enuf or Cheerwine (Just kidding on this one :p)

Bad Idea, but not always sin:
    -Women In the Military
    -Dancing
    -Dip, chew, spit
    -Drinking Beer
    -Drinking Wine
-Having jobs that keep you on the road
    -TV
    -Movies
-Having lunch with a women not your wife

Not good or bad based on my Bible interpretation:
-Wearing long hair (Sampson had long hair I think, so I don't believe it's sin, although I reckon you look like a fool)
-Rock Music (Can be bad. Can be good)
    -Wearing Makeup (Depends)
-Wearing Pants - (Females doing farm work need pants)

Except for the first entry, the OP loox like a list from a cult page, such as JW, SDA, LDS, or certain branches of pentecostal. They almost don't believing in living, period.

As for women in politics or the military, read Judges 4 where Deborah, a wife, mother, & prophetess, was Israel's judge, & led Barak(Not Obama! LOL) & 10K Israelis into battle against King Jabin's Canaanite army, destroying it completely.

Dating, period? Hogwash. Marriages at first sight or pre-arranged marriages, sight-unseen, seldom work out.

Probably because when it comes to Biblical separation, no one really wants to tackle it for fear of coming across as legalistic.

    Then there's the audience:

    You should see the flack that preachers have taken in the past for even bringing up the subject;
I remember it well, years ago, and how it made some people in my old church very uncomfortable... and it's only become worse as the years have rolled on.
I know of very few that even try it today, because it's not popular to remind people of what the Scriptures say about it.

A good example is when I've brought it up on this forum...

You should see the posts, with people acting shocked, trying to figure out "how far is too far" and the opposite one, which basically comes across as "how closely can I walk to the world and its ways, and still be considered a Christian", etc.
Notwithstanding that I myself fought with these very issues as a young believer,
and some of the things on your list I would have been offended at back then.

Ultimately what I've found is that when anyone actually brings up the subject,
everyone has their own ( and sometimes very different ) ideas of what it is to "come out and be ye separate, and touch not the unclean thing", and "be ye holy as I am holy."

    That's why I won't even comment on your list, Salty;
    Because to me, it's "loaded"...:Cautious

...and playing with loaded weapons is best when they are not pointed back at one's self.;)

How far does one carry the Scripture, “Love not the world nor the things in the world…”, especially when it comes to the modern craziness relating to music in churches, the wish to inoffensively include every body in the alphabet life style, and ears being tickled by agreeable grace teachings.

It is getting harder not only to physically go to church, but to actually attempt to derive peace and solemn worship of my Father and the Son.
