Wow...it kind of boggles my mind that someone could be a Christian for any length of time and NOT have heard of Wheaton College or know what it is. If nothing else, Wheaton is known as the alma mater of Jim Elliot, the famous missionary who was killed trying to bring the gospel to the Auca Indians in Ecuador, and his wife Elisabeth, a respected author and speaker!
Pure and simple genius, I can already tell you that you will get some negative comments about Wheaton. The school will be called "liberal" in its standards and even perhaps in its theology...I'm not familiar enough with it to say whether those criticisms are valid.
I can only go by looking at some of the products of the college. My husband has a first cousin who went to Wheaton, and he is a wonderful Christian young man. A few years ago, a Wheaton girl interned at our radio station, and she was also a shining example of young Christian womanhood.
Also, because of its academic excellence, Wheaton is often referred to as "the Harvard of Christian colleges."
