In your opinion which verse best sums up the entirety of the message of the Bible? I'm pretty sure I know what everyone will say, but wondering if there are any others.
Which Verse?

I posted this over a month ago and never got any response. Below is a blog posting I came across that summarizes the point I was going to try to make with the original post.

Genesis 1:1a
In the beginning God... -
And to go along with your original verse Rev. 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” -
Yup... The sooner we realize that it is all about God and not at all about us, save that our God created us and desires that we be in right relationship with Him for His glory, the better off we are!

Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Sums up the the entirity of the Message, Christ came as a man, died on the cross for the remission of our sins, He rose to give us proof of our Eternal life and He Revived (He Recovered Life), we have Spiritual life because of our faith in Him. We Live for the Lord's purpose no matter if we are Saved or Lost God's purpose will be accomplished in Eternity. -
God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;
and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. - II Cor 5:19 -
I will say what most folks are thinking.
John 3.16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.
The rest of the Bible is just as important because it explains why and how God felt this way. -
But I'm not too sure that we should be looking for a single verse. -
On a side note, I read somewhere that the most quoted bible verse is no longer John 3:16, but Matthew 7:1: "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." Seems likely in our postmodern society. -
-
John3v36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
-
I believe the Bible is pretty well summed up with John 1:29b, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."
