White people can be black, men can be women, and the constitution can be unconstitutional

In a Huffington Post blog post titled “Is The Electoral College System For Choosing Our President Unconstitutional?”, Friedman writes, in part:

That [Electoral College] system has allowed the loser of the popular vote to win the presidency in five of our 56 Presidential elections. Such a system would be illegal in any state or local election.

But it is contained in the Constitution. Can a section of the Constitution itself be unconstitutional? The answer is yes.

It was our forefathers who decided that this was the way we would vote for president. In some countries, the people have no say. We do by voting for our electors to the college. There is nothing unconstitutional about that.

I read a GREAT comparison a few weeks ago and I've actually posted about it on Facebook and had a number of history teachers LOVE it. It compares the electoral college to the World Series. In this last World Series, both teams actually were tied in the number of runs they had but it was the Cubs who won most of the games so they won the Series. In the same way, Mrs. Clinton won most of the popular votes but that isn't what counts - it is the race in the individual states.

Actually the last sentence of the above quote is correct.

For example - here in the Empire State, there are 62 counties.
Suppose the State Constitution was worded the same way as the Federal const -
and it stated that each county in the State would have one Senator in the State Senate.
(Currently we do have 63 Senators)
Well according to a Federal court decision, a State senate must be "one man, one vote"
However, since half of the State population is within one city -those few counties receive about 1/2 of the State Senators - while over 50 counties only have about 30 senators.
