"God is sovereign even when He's not sovereign. And if you say otherwise you are limiting God's sovereignty."
Couldn't resist.... bwaahahahahahaha.... ;) -

Exodus and Leviticus has a lot to say about sins of ignorance. Sins done in ignorance are sins nonetheless. A sin offering had to be made for them.
If I understand it correctly, Abemilech did not sin, but if he had slept with her, he would have sinned - sinned in ignorance, but sinned nevertheless. -

A scriptural point.

That is essentially saying that God is sovereign over a decision about which He has abdicated His sovereignty -- which is to say that God is sovereign even when He's not sovereign. And I'm limiting God's sovereignty if I say differently.
Like I said, "bwaahahahahahahaha..." -

"You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman."
I fail to see anything about touching anybody there. -
Nothing to do with the OP....
but...well... -

Let's see - what are your options, now web?
1. Change the subject
2. Insist that the text says what you say it says, and ignore what it really says
3. Insult me or James
4. Try to make a witty remark
5. Disappear

or..... GASP .... admit you were wrong. Nah. -

I'm sorry...have you ever admitted you were wrong about anything? If not, you really have no room to talk. -

Speaking of the OP...are you ever going to address Allan's question asking about John's use of "whole world"? -

God did not punish him in this case...because God stopped him from touching her.
maybe it was because God stopped him.

again..you make no point.Click to expand...
The sin was in taking a married woman. If this were not a sin, Abimilech would not have admittd to sinning against Abraham.Click to expand... -

Yes, I've admitted I was wrong several times on BB. For example, I insisted that "that" referred back to "faith" in Ephesians 2:8 for a long time. Then someone pointed out the Greek gender didn't match, so I had to admit I was wrong all along. And there were several other times but I can't recall what the details were at the moment.
Try it sometime. It's extremely liberating to admit when you're wrong about your interpretation of this or that Bible passage. The truth will set you free. -

Obviously knowledge of sin, or the blatant breaking of God's Law is required to be held guilty of such sin.Click to expand...
And that my web friend is not of the Bible.
Weddog dude...do you not understand??
Abimilech is not admitted he sinned. God had said before he had not sinned. Look at what the text says man.
And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
Gen 20:7 Now therefore restore the man [his] wife; for he [is] a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore [her] not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that [are] thine.
Gen 20:8 Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid.
Gen 20:9 Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.
Gen 20:10 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?Click to expand...
Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him (him is Abraham)
It was asked..."Why has THOU done this? (thou is Abraham)
and he goes on to ask.."What have I (done to) offend thee? (thee is Abraham)
Thou (thou is Abraham) has brought (he brought...he setup...it was Abraham that had placed this before Abimelech) on me( me is Abimelech) and on my kingdom a great sin.
Abimelech is not saying he sinned.
God did not say he sinned.
God stopped him from sinning.
Abimelech is asking why he was setup to sin and would have sinned...if God had not stopped him.
You never did answer why Abimelech and not Cain.
My guess is that you will NEVER answer itClick to expand... -
