No fair going to a search engine.

Who did D.L. Moody say was "the greatest preacher in the world"?
-
Who was the most theologically knowledgeable American President?
-
Perhaps there are two. The first being his grandfather. One who he greatly respected and admired.
The other remains unnamed, but was that Methodist lay preacher who pointed Spurgeon to "Look" and Spurgeon did and was converted. -
George Bush (GW not the GHW) His conversion and walk demonstrates the work of the Holy Spirit.
Woodrow Wilson was an honorable man, but was far more political than I would sense aligned with Scriptures.
However, I think that William McKinley and James Garfield were perhaps men (along with Bush) that lived out their faith by faith.
But, my top pick would be Bush. That man truly does know the Lord and relies upon His Word and even the ungodly know that he is a believer. -
James A. Garfield. The only ordained minister to serve as President of the US.

No cigar for both attempts. but keep trying. -
Well, at least you all have been narrowing-down the possible candidates. -
GW (as his wife and others affectionately call him) not only lived the faith before the world, drew strength from study of Scripture, was securing aid to both African and Asian believers in persecution, but is noted as the only president who while still in office secured the release of persecuted believers from various internments.
We all can disagree on some policy(ies), but his work demonstrated his faith as James states. -
G.W.B will be housed in a cell at Gitmo --that's his future.
-
Did he cause you some manner of distress? -

Being a Texan I am no great fan of the Bush family, but I can't help but think your criticisms are not well thought out.
He was what he was. The country survived his administration quite well. Just as we survived the Obama administration and we will survive the Trump administration.
No reason to cry "the sky is falling, the sky is falling." :) -
You are certainly welcome to your opinion, but there are certain claims you make that are just wrong, and moreover claiming the man is going to hell is evil thinking. You are a better person who may have been given some misinformation, so let's kind of clear the field of some of what you typed.
First, he was and is not the buffoon the media attempted to portray, but neither did he make some large attempts at correcting them. He actually trusted that the Lord would honor his efforts to remain in His service because he honestly considers that God appointed him president. As far as intelligence, he ranks near the top of the list of presidents that have held political office.
Second, he was not incompetent. Not on the slightest level. However, he admittedly allowed those chosen over areas of authority to exert their own authority which was and is the correct thinking. All true leadership is about delegating authority. He didn't have a Ruby Ridge, or Branch Davidian massacre, nor did he have ambassadors abused and murdered. He allowed the generals who were in charge to be in charge. That the intelligence folks of the world were wrong in their assessments is not his fault.
The problem with the current and previous administration is that this president wants only those who think exactly like him and not to be policy makers with in the delegated authority of their appointment, and the previous administration chased after good looks and mass popular appeal, ruling by pole numbers.
Third, as far as being a "neocon" suggesting that he was part of the conservative group that arose during the 60's or joined the Reagan administration, you would be in error. GW operated under GHW (while he was vice president and president) but much like the trump son in law does - as a sounding board, he was born a conservative, and grew even more so after his life altering conversion.
He made is political mark in Texas as the first Governor from the reconstruction era to actually bring unity of policy making to both sides of the isles of the Texas Legislature, and he desperately tried to do the same at the national level, but the divisions are chasms that squander all efforts in the strife for self indulgence.
I don't know where you got your information from, but it is wrong, and even his character of doing what is right and honorable has been unblemished, unlike most others that occupied the office.
Here is a simple example:
When GW took office, the previous administration had literally trashed the place. The IT networks were spoiled, the individual offices were destroyed, and the filthiness of what was left behind is better left to the imagination. Needless to say, many wanted to make the situation known, and some of it did leak out. However, GW quickly had everything cleaned up, the office areas sanitized and made functional, and soon was receiving guests. The goal was to not reflect disparagingly upon the previous administration and move quickly to establish unity and trust.
When it was time to vacate the offices some 8 years latter, he did what he could to make sure that not a single charge of misappropriation, misconduct, or malice could be made as to the conditions and turnover of the white house. Unfortunately, although Laura had spent time and effort in to making the residency again a showplace, within the first year the residency was shambles and much of Luara's work was undone. It was heartbreaking! Do you recall Laura giving a tour and displaying all that had been done to both restore and improve the conditions? Did you ever notice that the Trump family did not immediately occupy the residence? Wonder why? It really isn't hard to figure out, is it?
Now, you don't really have to take my word for it, you are welcome to come down here to Crawford and visit with some folks who know him first hand. After all, not everyone has heard his testimony of conversion, and you might be surprised at just how intelligent, honest, dedicated to the Lord he is as well as a remarkably pleasant person to get to know. Totally unpretentious.
Ok, now back to the thread.
