Why are Baptists so divisive?

For that matter, why is the church as a whole so divided?
Some divide over different interpretations or focuses on doctrine. As long as they remain united in Christ, ain't no biggie. The Church in Jerusalem was divided over doctrine with the Church in Corinth, but they remained united in Christ.

That, and I can think of a couple people that use this as a platform solely to express their hatred towards our president it seems like.
Ah Nolan, You have no idea then what hatred can and does produce then do you? Someone must of hated Kennedy, must of hated Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley. So I don’t know what you are talking about. Neither do you apparently. So don’t give anyone ideas…please.

When I first came across this thread, I was chomping at the bit to give a piece of my mind.

Baptists are divisive because, despite the claim that they are free of the tradition found in the Roman Catholic Church, the reality is that they are chock full of their own! I think this is the most obvious reason as to why we see the First Baptist Church and the Second Baptist Church across the street. It's also the reason why it was Baptists who were responsible for forming many of the prominent cults we see today that originated during the restoration movement.

There are some good genuine Baptist preachers out there who may be ignorant about their own traditions, but there are far too many out there who are WILLFULLY DECEPTIVE and lead others astray. So let's not all pretend like it is the Baptists who represent true north.

How is that any different to having St Peter's (Anglican) church just a few steps away from All Saints (Anglican) church and St Paul's (Anglican) church?
