WHY DO EVANGELICALS IGNORE RON PAUL?
By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

Evangelical Christians are already beginning the process of selecting the Republican presidential candidate whom they can anoint as their successor to George W. Bush. Somehow, evangelicals have this deluded idea that President Bush is one of them. How they came to this delusion both fascinates and escapes me. Bush is anything but one of them. However, most evangelicals believe he is, and today it seems that illusion is greater than reality, anyway. Bush proves that more than anyone I have ever known. But enough about Bush.
The question burning in the minds of evangelicals today is: Which Republican candidate for president will we anoint? There are several possibilities, but apparently Congressman Ron Paul is not one of them.

"However, the truth is, neither Gingrich, Giuliani, Romney, nor McCain deserves the support of principled conservatives. Each of these men has numerous examples of failure and compromise of essential conservative values. "
Thanx for posting this, Ken. I always liked Chuck. -
Ron Paul is boring Ken. He never ever talks about kickin islamofascist butt! That's what we want in a president someone that talks tough spends money like crazy, runs up our debt with China and Japan into the gazillions and has an itchy trigger finger ready to build another nation at the drop of a hat or nuclear tipped bunker buster. Now that's real conservatism man! Wow! That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and gives me the urge to go wave my plastic made in China American flag all over town. Besides Ron Paul hasn't been annointed by AIPAC like the rest of the contenders for the crown of the empire have, without that he doesn't stand a chance. Just vote for the lesser of two evils that the money and pr people pick for us and let the chips fall where they may like we always do, it's tradition. Oh yeah...Ron Paul isn't even a member of Skull and Bones, CFR or Tri Laterals so what could he possibly know about things like merging us seamlessly with Canada and Mexico and harmonizing all our laws and customs in line with WTO and IMF global standards or combining our military with mercenaries and corporations? Stuff like that is important for the president of central north america to know, ya know?

I don't care to read what the Constitution Party says, but I have read that Ron Paul is against capital punishment so I guess that one could say that the libertarianism is still in him and that he is not exactly Bible-believing. Personally, I don't like Hoosier libertarians and so I don't care for them nationally.
Ron Paul does not vote with the majority in the GOP on the war in Iraq and I am not about to repudiate Bush by using Ron Paul or any other anti-war type. His position against the minor war in Iraq is well represented by any of the Democrats, who are probably also against capital punishment. -
Well, maybe he is boring, but the quote that Bro. Curtis pulled out is the one what I've been saying for a while.
In supporting a political candidate, it seems odd to me that biblical soundness so often takes a back seat. Like I can ignore three or four marriages amongst other things if you support smaller government and lower taxes. -
Ron Paul to my knowledge has never claimed to be anti war. Anti nation building yes. Tell me CMG were you for nation building when Clinton was experimenting with it? -

Well, Mcdirector, Ron Paul sure ignores The Holy Bible on the issue of capital punishment. I would put him in with the religious left on that issue that no one should be put to death. I myself think that all murderers should get the death penalty as well as all rapists. I also disagree with Ron Paul that the federal government should not act to end abortion and that the federal government should not act to forbid same-sex marriage. I just think that Libertarians are do nothings, but then the only ones that I know are these here in Indiana, who are a sorry lot perhaps.

Poncho, Paul voted against the Iraq war resolution as far as I know. That is his attraction to the far right.
As for Clinton, we wanted him to do more, not less. -

2) Yeah, we don't want to follow the lead of the Founding Fathers who set up a system where the more power a government entity wielded the closer it should be to the people. Instead, let's just let the federal government run everything and see our liberties go down the drain faster and watch our nation go bankrupt even faster - monetarily and morally. -
Any reasonable person - meaning anyone who wants the government to stay out of his pocketbook and his personal life and who has no desire to control the lives of other people - is attracted to the idea of a Ron Paul candidacy. -
This election I think will bring out one major point CMG. We can't keep both the empire and the republic we're going to have to give up one or the other. I'm all for keeping the republic. You? -

Sure, Ken, let's let Vermont enact same-sex marriage and allow abortion just so we can keep the federal government from acting in the name of Libertarian purity. The fact is that the federal already acted to end polygamy in Utah and it would be wrong to let Vermont murder the unborn when the federal government in the Declaration of Independence said that a man was entitled to life.... So I should think that the issue was settled on July 4, 1776, and that Ron Paul is the one who wants to burn the foundation down. As for your opinion on capital punishment, I think that all human beings have been ordered to put murderers to death. Here again, Libertarians are leftists to me.

Poncho, there is no empire, no imperialism. If you want the west to commit suicide, just vote Democrat, and quit putting words in my mouth. Clinton cut and run whenever possible; he never fought a good fight anywhere--got it?

If Guiliani's bid fails, maybe you will be supporting her. -

Well, you want a Christian who will not stand for Christian values--in other words we are talking about the agenda of the religious left. As for the wordplay about empire, you hardly know what the word means in my opinion. If you want to see an empire, look at Islamofascism, you three.
