Hebert Armstrong is a cultist!! Why do I always see his adverts spashed all over the site? Here is a summary of his teachings.

    The Trinity
God is more than a single person. He is not limited to a Triune God, but is a family and consist of many. The belief is that the Godhead is not a closed system in which all others are prevented from taking part. The purpose of man is for God to reproduce Himself in human beings so that they can eventually become gods themselves.

    God
"The Word, then, is a Personage who was made flesh - begotten by God, who through this later begettal became his Father. So here we find revealed originally two Personages. One is God. But these two Personages were spirit, which is invisible to human eyes unless supernaturally manifested. Yet at the time described in verse one Jesus was not the Son of God and God was not his Father."

    Jesus Christ
"Jesus was born to rule and reign as king over all nations of the earth. Nearly 2000 years ago, Jesus qualified to become this world's ruler by conquering Satan the evil one." "His human birth was the arrival of the `second Adam.' He had come to qualify, where the first Adam failed. And he came to be resurrected from the dead by God, making possible ETERNAL GOD-LIFE for the people of God."

    The Holy Spirit
"The truth is - and it would shock millions to know - that the Holy Spirit is not a person. Rather, it is the agency by which God the Father works. The Holy Spirit is an agency, a force, a power that is used by the Highest - God the Father - to achieve his purpose. The Holy Spirit, we repeat, is not a person."

    Man
"God wants everyone of us to eventually become like Him."
"Why should it seem strange that you will someday be the spirit-composed child of your heavenly Father? You will be what He is - God."
"God's PURPOSE in having created humanity - in having caused YOU to be born - is to reproduce Himself."

    Salvation
"God will ultimately save most of mankind after Christ's return - not now." "Every human who ever lived will have an opportunity to receive salvation For most people that time will come after they have lived their entire lives, died and are brought back to life in a future resurrection."
    Copyright © Herbert W. Armstrong

    The Bible
"The revelation of these mysteries was lost, even to the Church of God, although the revelation of them has been preserved in the writings of the Bible. Why, then, has the world not clearly understood? Because the Bible was a coded book, not intended to be understood until our day in this later half of the twentieth century."

These sites appear from time to time---the only thing moderators can do is report the site to webmaster----with time---prayerfully you won't see anymore links like you reported

    Thanks

    They are google generated ads...
Without the ads, BB would not have the income to stay up.

If you see an ad.. report it to a mod. or administrator.
There are ways the webmaster can block them once they are reported.

Also, since they are google generated, google can generate the ads based on 2 things...

    1) certain word in a thread... IOWS.. words like Homos*xual, or s*x, without the * will generate ads that relate to those words... so becareful to use the *... when discussing topics so that those ads don't appear.

    2) google has the ability to read the cookies on the computer you are using, and generate ads specifically to you, that others may not see.
For instance.. I get WV tourism ads from time to time because I live in WV.. but others here on BB don't get them.
Also, if other sites has placed cookies on your computer, you will get ads from those sites.. or sites related to those sites...
Suppose you deal in a business of selling teddy bears.. and you visit a lot of websites that have teddy bears.. .you will start getting teddy bear related ads here on BB...

google has the ability to look at your cookies, and come up with what interests you.. and then send you ads to target your interests...
I go to myspace, and facebook and get a lot of Preaching, or ministry ads..
    I bet others don't.

sometimes, they aren't google ads, but paid for ad space, and are still offensive to christianity.

Donna, I haven't seen one that wasn't sponsored by google in someway. Except for the Huckabee for President one last yr...
And just looking at this page, they are all sponsored by google.

Maybe my spyware, antivirus software is blocking what others are seeing.
And I never log off... so I don't get all the others... that nonmembers see.

The Armstrong one is showing up... but it is from google... and ironically will keep showing up because his name is mentioned in the title of this thread.

Do you all see the Liberty University ad above the Armstrong ad?
Well I bet you do now since I mentioned Liberty!!! lol...

I didn't think BB has paid for ad space.

All you have to do is look at them, the ones I mentioned were on the bottom, paid for space, there was even once an ad there advertising those spaces available for ads. not every ad on this board is google.

then why last summer did the bottom of the front page say this space availabe, click here, and it was a link for BB email, right along side of other paid for ad space, some very questionable. I even posted here about it and was run in the ground for drawing attention to unchristian web site in a paid space here on the BB. meaning the owner chose to sell that spot to an unchristian and quite evil web site.

Yes Donna is right... here is the link to advertise.
    http://www.baptistboard.com/advertising.html

But I still don't remember seeing any that are not google...

NO Wait.. I remember when Helen was here, she bought advertising for the DVD her husband produced...

I am going to log off and see what ads are generated without me being signed on...

Ok, here is what I found...
there are more ads that show up when not logged in.. but they were still Ads by Google.

Except maybe for the Liberty University ad at the bottom of the page I am on now. I think it is paid for.

Moderators have reported the ads in question to administrators and also to webmaster

Please give us time to review the ads and delete them appropriately
