Ken, thanks very much for this article. Though I greatly admire Buckley and always have, I disagree.
-
William F. Buckley is right on this one. How long will it take for Bush to get it? Will his arrogant and foolish pride continue to drive his decisions regarding Iraq?
-
We should have seen this before we went in. Islam is not and never will be conducive to a democracy. (Turkey? Dont go there)
Are we naive to think and expect Muslims to ever except or recognize Israel? -
This was never an American objective at all this was a globalist objective, civil war in Iraq while looking like a failure for America is actually a victory for the internationalists and their military contractors.
Knowingly or unknowingly Buckley is acting as a propagandist for the internationalists that are sucking the wealth out of America through staged wars, "free trade" and pseudo environmentalism for their own selfish greed and goals.
Consolidation of wealth, resources, power and World Government. -
Buckly, George Will,William Bennet all are pretty much in agreement on the situation that Iraq is in.
Looks like George Bush will have to get his P.R. people to find or make up some nasty things to say about these guys. -
To "admit our defeat defeat" is the same as to "admit our enemy's victory". We should never ever do that no matter the day's turn of events. Making those claims plays right into the enemy's hands. Certainly Iraq will ultimately have to prove its ability to make representative government work for itself. We can't do it all for them. We're they're now to help them get that job done. But they've made a lot of progress towards that goal and, if we stick with them and if others would join with the effort, that progress will continue. They are responding well to the current crisis considering all the possibilities and the long history of violence in their nation. We don't need to "give up" because of the latest news. We must have long term goals and stay focused upon them not letting every crisis along the way lesson our resolve. We must keep looking harder at, bolstering, and encouraging the strong desires and commitments so many Iraqis have and are making to their newly found freedom and emerging government. America needs to act with maturity, confidence, and resolve in all that we say and do about this war.

The globalists do have long term goals that they have clearly stated in their books writtings and policies Dragoon. Too bad the people choose to ignore them in favor of their vassals colorful patritotic rhetoric and media smoke screens.
-
I would not call it defeat I would call it a future all out war between good and evil Jesus and satan and we all know or should by now who
wins America support Israel and be blessed -
remember japan remember germany defeated and
democratic for the most part living in freedom
our allies albeit more or less -
Don't admit anything! Claim we won and pull out.
-
Its obvious that most people do not know the real dynamics of what is occuring in the middle east. It is best to allow the president to complete this according to the military plans.
Regardless of the way people may act, nothing has been a surprise to the war planners. There are just certain things that cannot be made public when a war is in the process (and yes, we are STILL at war......the last stages, but still finishing the job). -
-
I could tell you the WHOLE story, but then you would have to commit suicide, because I don't kill people. Just kidding, but the real story is not as conspiratorial as you are implying. -
No problem have it your way Phillip. Zbigniew Brzezinski and the nice folks from the Project For A New American Century were all lying when they told us about it.
You are right, they are wrong. Feel better now? -
Well said, Dragoon. I agree.
-
the enemy has always been the enemy same thing
different times same people good won out last time

Buckley was always hard to understand, not so much what he said as how he said it. However, he is flat wrong on this one, but he is getting old, at least older than I am.

Well, Rocko9, just above my post we see an attack on George Will.
