Question: Is there anyone out there that likes to use t-shirts as a way of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ,And if so then why?. I would love to know of any experiences that you might have had ?
I truely beleave that the best way we can witness to others is by the life that we have through following Jesus. Other will see that we are different and then begin to ask questions. I also like to wear t-shirts that give a very clear christian message about Jesus. I have been wearing shirts like this for the past 12 years ever since I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savour!
Wearing a t-shirt can also remind us of who we are. One of my favourites is WWJD WHAT WOULD JESUS DO ?. One of the brothers in our church asked me if I would kindly turn my shirt inside out. He said that he wanted to sneek out of the service for a coffee But felt guilty when he saw my shirt These t-shirts are not only for non christians too see
Witnesing by example and then t-shirt ?

I guess they are alright. I am sure most of us have had them. I just do not like the commercializm of scriptures and stuff.

In would rather use Gods word on a t-shirt than anybody elses. It bugs me however when people sell shirts that do not realy print a clear message. some can even offend? I saw one shirt last week that said: What are you looking at? in large bold capital letters and on the back of the t shirt in very small italiks it said: you are looking at a child of God.

A t-shirt can have a good message on it, but I would prefer someone looking at the message on my back, not the front
Then, the other problem would be my hair. It's long, so I would have to wear my hair up. Tracts work well, but I've had more people approach me because of the way I dress than for any t-shirt message. -
Ok I have to admit that more people have aproached me for the way I dress also But I do like the idea of having the message on the front because sometimes I might see them looking at my shirt and then make a move myself if they dont I dont have eyes in the back of my head My wife is very shy and does not like confronting people head on. So she will not advertize as I do But She is a wonderful sunday school teacher and has no problem posting tracts or advertising on envelopes

I do not have any tee- shirts with tracts on them, but do a bit of pyrography in my spare time, and have made a wallclock for the wall in the shop where I am the manager, with a tract on it, it is amazing how many people see it and ask about it, this gives me the chance to witness, also when I sell my home made preserves, I put a couple of framed tracts on the table with my goods, and they get to be read and sometimes taken home by customers. ;)
p.s. I hope this gets to where I mean it to go......a bit new at this `posting` -

Hi Gwyneth,
What is Pyrography?
It is wonderful to see new ideas for spreading the Gospel. Have you ever thought of putting a wee message on the labels of your home preserves? I never thought about myself until I read your post
hi the Squire ?
I like the idea of the flags for showing which country you are from,But I have noticed that some americans will use the flag of the country that there ancestors came from? Which would constitute everybody that is not an indian,If I am correct? Do you know how I can have more than one flag on my post so I can include the flag of Norway Since that is where I am living even though I am Scottish? -
I have a lot of "church" shirts with our church's name on it. Plus, I have some that have some type of Christian emblem. Or other church related activity.
I only have a few that might say Jesus or God.
I have to be careful, because sometimes, I get to acting goofy, and don't need to have ANYTHING on my clothes. -
Sometimes I wear my shirt to remind me of who I am and therefore stop myself from acting goofy. However I have to admit that it does not always work this way
-
I have no objection to such t-shirts, but if you wear one, you'd better make sure you actions don't contradict your shirts.
I hate it when someone cuts me off in traffic and I look up and see a "Jesus Loves You" bumper sticker. -
I ditto what you are saying, RSR, and for that reason don't wear bumper stickers.
-
In that case why bother adveritizing at all?
Nobody is perfect, We all make mistakes  -
"So, you're a feminist? Isn't that cute."
I've got to find a place to put it where it won't obscure my "Ralph Stanley for President" or AOH stickers.
I used to wear t-shirts with Christian messages on thm when I forst became a Christian, but I found that it gave people a false impression long before I ever got to talk to them about Jesus.
I'm not against t-shirts with Christian slogans (although some of the slogans can get silly at times) but, for me, they don't work.

Just my opinion. -
Good point, One can also advertize on the front of there jacket. I saw a brother once in Calafornia that advertized on his cheque book
I noticed also that the in&out burger chain, back in 87 used to advertize John 3:16 on the bottom of all there cups  I dont have a problem with advertizing to the world that Jesus is lord and I am not ashamed or imbarassed to do so. I am not perfect like Jesus. I make mistakes while walking in the street or in my car,But yet at the same time I advertize that Jesus is my savour and my lord. Maybe I should print the part about me not being perfect also I am sorry that I did not see it from Grammy"s point of view. Wearing a large t-shirt might be a good idea though -
Dear Jesusinme,
Pyrography is burning , using a hot instrument, rather like a poker onto wood, it is used for decorating plaques, house name signs, etc. In use an electric `gadget` with a special wire attached to write/burn on wood, I have made tracts in this way, and "everlasting" Christmas greetings......containing Bible verse , and some recipients keep them on display all year - others use them every year. As long as they are visible, people will read them, and God willing seeds will be sown. -
What a good idea, Jesusinme, as from now when I make labels for my preserves, there will be a tract on them ..
