If she were trying why is she still living in sin? Repentance and a desire to live for God would go a long way toward helping her get out of this sinful relationship with the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Of course they could have just gotten married.
She chose to live a sinful lifestyle and apparently had no problem with sin until now.

I think you somehow diminish the war that goes on between the flesh and the spirit. That no matter how much one wants to do good, evil is ever present warring against your good. Some people struggle to win this war or are only perfected by death.

It doesn't make them any less saved as long as they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I didn't see anywhere anyone was staking out her house, I think most people have soemthing better to do. No one had to stake out her house, she went to church and bragged about her sinful lifestyle to another woman, thinking there was nothing wrong with sin.
Go back and read the article.

If a person comes to me and reveals something in confidence, no matter how bad, I can't divulge it to anyone unless she is doing something illegal. The church doesn't necessarily need to be sued but the woman who broke the confidence.
With that said, when I do talk to people in confidence we first have an understanding. I do not guarantee confidentiality. Rather, I state that if the person had enough confidence and trust to come to me in the first place, then he or she will have to have enough confidence and trust that I won't divulge what is said unless I deem it absolutely necessary to protect the integrity of the church. Or to protect a marriage from deception. Or to protect the unity of the body. And, certainly if I deem the person to be suicidal, or is molesting children, or a teenager, still under his or her parent's authority, is doing something that his or her parents need to know about. Of course I would always encourage the pregnant teenager to tell her parents herself. Or that I will go with her for support. But, unless there are some other mitigating circumstances, mom and dad have the right to know what going on with their child. If the person is unwilling then I gladly set them up to go and see a professional counselor. So far, no one has refused my offer and I haven't had to share any information.

A 49-year-old Florida woman says her former church is threatening to reveal her sins to its congregation after learning that she is in a "sexually immoral relationship."
She has already revealed her sin, to the whole world.
Grace Community Church, a non-denominational church
snip
was against her relationship with boyfriend Frank Young because the two were sexually active but not married.
so is God according to His word.
When she wasn’t willing to obey
not willing to obey God's word about sexual immorality.
or she will face public humiliation.
not in the letter, someone lied here.
“Bottom line, on January they 4th they are going to the church publicly with my sins, and my children will be sitting in church at the time,” Hancock told FOXNews.com.
her children are adults, does she think they don't already know.
the "process of loving accountability" is made very clear to members, and the church is doing "nothing more than following the practices of what biblical churches have done through history."
it shouldn't have been a surprise to her, because the memebrs know what the churches actions will be in circumstances like this, but as we've seen from her, she just doesn't beleive the bible, prefers to do her own thing.

when she started telling her church mentor about her relationship
bragging about her sinful lifestyle. which she has continued to do when she called the news paper.
Still, she said she tried to follow her mentor’s advice and break up with Young, who wasn't a member of the church.
oh really, the article just said
When she wasn’t willing to obey
