Short answer: Nope. I have never attended or been a member of a church that did not have financial transparency.

What Baptist church leaves such a thing to outsiders? And what Baptist pastor would connive in usurping the local church's authority by setting up such a board or would agree to serve on it? Bah.

In seeking to the leadership of the Spirit I would expect that leadership to harmonize with the Word that the Spirit has given. I believe Scripture teaches every Christian should be baptized and fellowship with a local congregation. I believe Scripture commands Christians to follow to the leadership and teaching of their church. We should not join a congregation where we know we cannot conscientiously do that. I believe Scripture requires us to withdraw from those who walk disorderly. We cannot both unite with and withdraw from the disorderly at the same time.

Here is an example made a little more extreme, which might help make the point. If I received an impression, dream, vision or voice from "God" telling me to join the Roman Catholic Church, rather than go and join the Roman Catholic Church I would question whether the impression, dream, vision or voice was actually from God.

Perhaps this will help in understanding the mentality of believers who see a church like Elevation and answer, "No, I would not join."

So you think God will lead and guide you to attend a chuch whre thetrue gospel and real doctrines are not stressed?
Such as a Joel Osteen/Kenneth Copeland for exampel?

Th basic question to me is why would God direct us to a church not teaching real gospel nor truths of the Faith?

A Reformed church, if conservative, will be teaching the real doctrines of God, not those I metioned!

No, but not because of personalities one way of the other. And not because I don't know a given staff member's salary. As a pastor, I have never published my salary.

I wouldn't be a member of Elevation strictly for theological and ecclesiological reasons.
