If Chuck Norris wanted to give a lecture on the martial arts, I would be interested. But unless I'm missing something, Chuck Norris is not a medical authority.

Fact check: COVID-19 vaccines will not make people test positive for the disease

Take it from a physician treating COVID-19 patients, 'Frontline Doctors' video is dangerous

The doctor in this video was arrested in the video was part of the Capitol attack

Another story identifying this doctor in the Capitol attack

I'm not a medical expert, but my father was a medic in World War II and had a degree in chemistry and biology with a strong understanding of drugs. My mother is a retired nurse, and my brother is a research chemist that does leading edge work on drug development. Between all of those close resources and an "interesting" medical history, I know a fair amount about drugs. Just listening to the first few minutes of her presentation, she vastly underplayed the dangers of hydroxychloroquine. She mentioned that it is over-the-counter in other countries in places like Africa, without mentioning that many countries don't have a lot of regulations regarding the purchase of drugs. Moreover, she is referring to places where malaria is a huge threat to life. Compared to malaria, hydroxychloroquine is safe, but that doesn't mean hydroxychloroquine is safe for everyone.

Moreover, she quotes statistics about the "recovery" rate when she is really talking about the mortality rate. Sure, most people won't die, but many (from 1/3 to 1/2) will have long-term damage to their heart, lungs, kidneys, or brain. That, it itself, is something to be extremely concerned about.

Don't take Chuck Norris' opinion or my opinion as gospel. Consult with your primary care physician and make your decision that way.

Full disclosure: Five friends have died from COVID-19. Currently, my mother, her husband, and my brother-in-law all have COVID-19. About 15 friends have survived COVID-19, with two of them experiencing significantly diminished lung capacity.

My 59yr old brother works in nuclear medicine in a hospital in Myrtle Beech.
his first dose was nothing, but the second dose hit him hard with pain for one day.
that means his immune system is reacting strongly to the shot.

I have read people who have this vaccine may react strongly when exposed to a big dose of covid virus to cause a strong reaction or in a few cases death from an immune system over reaction.

Right now have no plans to get the vaccine, but I also never get the flu vaccine and never get sick.
I rarely get headaches, or have anything, but I do have high blood pressure, and diabetes, so I am considered high risk. I am not FAT, plenty of people can get diabetes, and not be grossly overweight, that is a myth.

    No, I wouldn't take it.

If I believed all that is said about Covid, I probably would. But I don't. So I have no interest in taking it.

I remember lots of folks here caring about the economy. Here is your chance to do something about it.

Here is what Trump said about them. Trump is giving good information here.

If you have questions about the vaccines with regard to differences, development, safety and effectiveness, I can point you in the right direction for you to read the data for yourself.

The appalling ethical mistakes of the Tuskegee trial lead to the development of the The Office for Human Research Protection to ensure something like that never happened again.

The horrors of the Thalidomide scandal lead to the Medicines Act of 1968 in the US that regulated drug development and established the staged clinical trial system to ensure that drugs are properly tested for safety and efficacy before being approved so nothing like that was repeated. The Act and others like it around the world has served the medical community pretty well since.

For what it's worth, my daughter-in-law tested positive after her first COVID shot and had to stay off work for 10 days. After 10 days, she is still testing positive. She works at an assisted living place and gets tested every week.

There is only one trial that showed a link between autism and vaccines, the very first one that started the anti-vaccine movement by Dr Andrew Wakefield who committed fraud and falsified data to show that link for profit. He had a patent for an alternative to the MMR vaccine. Literally hundreds of studies performed since show no link. And now we are stuck with the antivax movement and people dying unnecessarily from preventable diseases. It is a haunting story about how fast fake news is propagated and how devastating its impacts are.

@Gold Dragon The virus itself has barely been around a year. There is no way possible they could know they long-term effects of the vaccines.

Phase 1 human trials for the Moderna vaccine started in March so we have data for almost a year out for those patients now. And all the vaccines successfully completed the requisite phase 3 trials with excellent safety data.

Moderna and Pfizer are mRNA vaccines. Your body is already full of mRNA as it is part of the process of how you make proteins that basically allow your cells to function. The body also has mechanisms to break down mRNA. So the vaccine is actually in your body for a very short period of time and is made up of stuff that is already in your body. The likelihood of any long term effects from the actual mRNA of the vaccine are minuscule. It is the other ingredients that allow storage and delivery and how the body’s immune system responds to the spike protein that is generated that could potentially have long term effects not detected during the phase 1-3 trials. And those things are being monitored in the millions of people who have already been vaccinated.

Almost all drug reactions occur in the first 24 hours. Your kidneys and liver are very good at eliminating foreign things from your body.

These are the most scrutinized and studied vaccines ever made in human history.

Whereas the unnecessary herbs and vitamins many folks swallow without a thought go through almost no testing whatsoever for safety, efficacy or to even check if they contain what the packaging says is in it.

I don’t want to take it but what’s her name says that I have to. I agree with Biden that it should be given to minorities, women, and elderly white Democrats before it is given to the basket of deplorables and irredeemables.

I will. Thanks for the excellent advice.

I would recommend watching the video above of Trump talking about the vaccines that I posted. You may like his style better.

The factory where I work has had plenty of cases needless to say. They are just big enough to have nurses and a medical office. I myself am weary of the entire protocol.

As you know, what killed off the Martians when they invaded earth was their lack of an immune system as they had previously eradicated disease and viruses on Mars. Since earth’s atmosphere is loaded with virus in every breath you take, all of the Martians kicked the bucket except Bill Nye the science guy who says he came from Mars but he really is from the first Adam. Unfortunately, Area 51 is off limits, but like you, my immune system laughs at viruses in the air.
