There are Baptists, Disciples of Christ, and, until 2006, Church of the Brethren in this, along with the paedobaptist groups.

So, in your opinion, is this wrongful ecumenism, or a healing of unnecessary divisions?

No problem is coopearting to attack social agends, to help others etc

But should be like mind in faith/doctrines if coming together in a theological sense!

I see the danger in being too broad, but isn't there also a danger in being too narrow?

yes, as I would see the line to not stop across being if we were to be teaching/working along side in doctrine areas with those holding to say a view of christianity that would make tongues a Must have thing to be saved, or that sacraments help in thes alvation process!

Yes, but a general problem with many ecumenical groups like this, is they seem to ignore their differences, rather than honestly discuss them...so they just don't talk about them, and assume everybody is a Christian no matter what they believe.

When it comes to the choice between keeping the unity, or doctrines, doctrines usually get either broomed away or redefined!

Lets start with a few basics:

    Type of baptism:...Immersion or sprinkling
    Church Autonomy:..Local or denomination controlled
Salvation:.............Eternal security or salvation can be lost

Ok, but I was trying to answer Toms OP question " is this wrongful ecumenism.

If i was passing thur town, I might visit, but to join - I would have extreme reservations.

Even in the military - we have "Protestant Chapel". I did attend when overseas , but ended up starting a local independent Baptist Church - for some of the reasons I previously stated.

think what you saying is that there are churches practicing as a real NT church, and other churches that though have saved persons in them, even teach/preaching the right gospel, are not doing that as a real NT Church!

And with the third one, you get divisions into denominations among the Baptists.
