It is interesting how many small towns in France have memorials to the fallen of the Great War (WWI).

The point is, they don't forget.

Very moving story.. i'm glad that his wife finally got some type of closure. And it is really a blessing to her I'm sure to see the way the people of Les Vents revere her late husband.

A few things that struck me that you really just don't find anymore:

* A wife committed to her marriage - even through the years when her husband has been missing. How many women would just move on after a year or two or three?

* A village that honors a man that they never knew. They took great care with his body and honors him to this day. That's so wonderful! How many heros do we hear about then forget a week later??

That was a beautifully touching story and I can't believe our government messed that up so badly. That poor wife. :(

If I understood the news clip, the village honors him because he maneuvered his plane as he rode it down. It missed the village and crashed in the woods.
