It does not say that. You base your call on Dispensational bias and not from the scriptural comparison.

They had to learn and in time they did. Jesus taught Amillennialism and Peter preached it at Pentecost Acts 2ff.

Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world. Why twist his words into Phariseeism?

Out of our hearts being changed. You have to keep in mind Piper is a strong Calvinist (five points, plus double predestination). He believes that Christians are reborn and God takes out their old heart and gives them a new one (a new spirit, put's God's Spirit in them).

So his premise is that we obey out of love as our nature has been changed.

Isn't that pretty much what Christianity has taught since time of Christ though?

Yes. If you have read John Owen and then John Piper you will also see that they are very much alike.

His point is more relative to us, I think. What he saw was Christians who looked at obedience to God as if it were opposite to their desires. Piper's point is that we, being recreated, should have different desires (if we love God we should desire to please God....our desires change).

Before we were saved by the Lord, our desires were to please ourselves mainly!

You have got to be kidding me. "Doesn't say that" my eye. What in the world else does "reign with him a 1000 years" mean????

You need a course in logic, brother Dave.

The book is directed to Christians. What Piper is saying is that when we are saved we should have a mind that is set on the Spirit.

“The overriding concern of this book is that in all of life God be glorified the way He Himself has appointed. To that end this book aims to persuade you that the chief end of man is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever.”

The idea is that the more we are like Christ the more we glorify God and the more God is pleased with us.

Revelation is symbolic. You miss it completely expecting the symbols to appear instead of what they represent.
