What is this poll about?

How is your sanctuary set up?
-
I voged. We also have stained glassed windows and a balcony ;)

We recently moved quite a distance and have found a new church home. In this church we have pews and three sections, fanned out.
Now, my main question and pet peeve about auditoriums set up this way has always been - and this is important, folks! - the bride has to choose which side of the church she wants to march down on because there is no center aisle!!! :tonofbricks: :wavey: -
Tra DITION!

You forgot to put "other"
We meet in a small cafe.:1_grouphug: -
I answered according to how our sanctuary is.. Now as to what i would like to see. . .
Basically, i'm a proponent of "traditoinal" - "blended" worship. Here's how I'd like a sanctuary to look.
Chairs - NO PEWS - this makes it able for the space to be reconfigured for the themes of the worship service.
Also, in our culture where do we sit on benches? The cheap seats at the ball park.
baptistry
Hymnals and projection screen - who says we can't use either and/or both - possibly begin a medley with the hymnal in hand and switch to projection
Projection can also be used for announcements, illustrations, testimonies, background, sermon notes, etc.
An acousticallty excellent space for choral and congregaitonal singing
Art work and stained glass
A small moveable, yet attractive, lectern that can be moved easily , even during a service for drama, liturgical dance
There are other things, this wold be my "dream" sanctuary in whci to be a minister of music.

I voted twice because we have two sections of 13 pews then an overflow section with chairs.

Ours has pews with center aisle. We have hymn books for the traditional service but use a projector for the message in both services and for the words in the praise service.
It's a very traditional, country looking worship center with stained glass. Our stage area does not have a big pulpit, but a wooden stand that's easy to move since we use some video's during the services. -
Not to seem to be nit picky, but "sanctuary" implies sacredness. What' so sacred about a room of pews and hymns, etc? Jesus is our sanctuary, not a room of inanimate objects.
Likewise, with the "altar". Jesus Christ is the believer's altar.
