We have our youth group taking off on a trip this summer, and I'm interested in any ideas that might be out there concerning a short "commissioning" during AM services the Sunday before they leave - something that would show the youth that they are supported while allowing the congregation to invest themselves in the trip through prayer.
Any ideas out there or programs you've seen work well?

The Anglo/American Version: I'd use the short version of whatever your service is for the missionaries sent by your church.
The Russian EC-B version:</font>- Depending on the size of the group-</font>
- </font>
- If its under say seven including the leader(s), call the group up to the platform by name until their are all up front.
or</font> - If the group is over seven, call the group up to the platform collectively.</font>
- Speak about their trip, basicly giving them a charge.</font>
- Pray over them</font>
- Have the group kneel</font>
- Have members of the church leadership (you and representaive deacons and/or a representative parent) lay hands on their head (one per group member)</font>
- Either you can pray for the group collectively or you and the deacons can pray individually</font>
- And/or each group member can pray</font>
- Depending on the size of the group-</font>

WE call the kids to the front of the church and ask for people to vol and stand with them. We let them know they are to pray specifically for that kid everyday and to lift him or her up.

Our church usually brings the group up en masse and prays for them.
