Zell Miller's Speech

Loved the "spitballs" comment. I've been saying that, had Kerry's anti-military votes in the Senate been sustained, that the US soldiers would be walking to war today with Brown Bess Muskets (standard issue in the Revolutionary War), but the "spitballs" comment was much more to the point.

The GOP has adopted the Democrat agenda from about eight years ago, while the Democrats have moved even further leftward. It's easy to see how a Democrat would be very pleased with Bush and today's "new" GOP.
I agree. While Dem's will scream that Miller has deserted them (and it is true that he has shifted his views somewhat, particularily on the abortion issue), the fact of the matter is that the Dem's and the GOP have both shifted further to the left. It isn't so much that Miller, as a 'conservative' Democrat has changed as much as that the parties have changed.
Having said that, I wish that more conservative GOP leaders would have the gall that Miller has, and speak out about the waywardness of their own party. I do applaud his courage.
I could not disagree more. There is no evidence that the Clinton agenda is now wholesale Bush's agenda. The Dems have fallen further left, especially in terms of national defense and homeland security. Post 9-11, this has caused many fiscal and social moderate dems to consider supporting GOP folks.

Don't take my word for it. Look at Bush's website, under his agenda. He repeatedly brags about how much he has incresaed the budgets of preactically every socialist program, especially education.
Wasn't it the Democrats who used to do that?
Then, look for his agenda relating to abortion. Keep looking for it until you fall asleep, because it isn't even mentioned.
I guess that's "compassionate conservatism"...government socialism and unlimited abortion.

And don't bother justifying Zell's lack of honesty by telling me that the other branch of the demopublicans are equally devious.
There's not a nickle's worth of difference. Zell went on a foaming rant and directly contradicted his previous glowing endorsement of Kerry, for what? A little notoriety? A nice ambassadorship somewhere? It's what politics has become these days. Demopublicans, like lawyers and people of similar morality, will assume any position for the right price.
If you vote for Kerry, you won't get any better. Unless someone does something, we're headed for a third-world society.
And if we vote for someone with a sense of decency and patriotism, "Bush might lose."
But we won't have to worry about facing God someday and explaining why be backed people like Zell and Bush and Kerry.

Not only did he allude to it ... he specifically said that afterwards either on CNN or MSNBC.
It is just very interesting how Kerry will not run on the record of the past 20 years. Miller and Cheney showed us why he won't. Even today, at lunch, on MSNBC or CNN (I can't remember which), one of Kerry's attack dogs from his campaign when directly asked about a Senate issue immediately started appealing to his Vietnam service and decoration. Kerry won't run on his record becuase of what it is. Zell Miller simply pointed that out.
He was a fireball ... a bit over the edge at times, but he certainly hit the nail on the head for those who say there is no difference. He pointed out one area of the many differences between Bush and Kerry.

Just heard part of Zell's interview with Wolf Blitzer where he explained that part of that particular speech was due to the fact that as a new senator he was given the speech to present...
He has since researched every detail so that he could refute the talking heads (speaking to Wolf Blitzer) who were parroting democratic talking points.

Or, should we buy as much time as possible and work towards a Last Days Revival?
Nineveh repented at Jonah's Preaching and God spared them, for a time...
I know the "Eagle" doesn't 'fly' during the end times...
But, does the reason *have* to be because of moral decay and decadence?
No matter how unlikely...
Shouldn't we be praying for revival and that the reason the "Eagle" doesn't fly is because too many important leaders fly with Jesus at His Return?
