Tasted death for every man !
Heb 2:9
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
The false teachers have had a field day with their wilful ignorance and perversion of this text, Alleging that it teaches that Jesus Christ has by the Grace of God tasted death for all mankind without exception, and yet that is not what it says, but that He tasted death for[in behalf of] every or... -
T, U, L and I of the Tulip
Four of the five points of the TULIP are false doctrines according to my view of scripture. Proponents of these views claim other equally viable views are possible.
Lets take them in the order preferred by Calvinists, starting with "Total Spiritual Inability" and crank through to "Irresistible Grace."
The doctrine of total spiritual inability claims that the Bible teaches fallen natural men of flesh, before they are regenerated, cannot respond in a way to the gospel message such... -
The Nature of the Incarnation - Dual or Single?
Did Jesus have two natures or one? After his resurrection did he and does he presently maintain this status?
I am reading a book on the Incarnation. It, no doubt, discusses the Nicene The Nicene Creed and Chalcedonian Chalcedonian Creed (A. D. 451) | CARM Christian Apologetics & Research Ministry creeds.
As I understand, the reason for the... -
Primitive Baptists
Are there any Primitive Baptists on this forum?
I had a good PB friend here years ago by the name of Jeff Weaver. I have been able to make contact with him; last I heard from him, he was in very bad health.
Strange as it seems, being so far apart theologically, I have had good relationships with PB's. They have been much less abrasive and accusatory than many Southern Baptist Calvinists I have known. -
If SBC Local Churches Could Take a Poll........
If SBC local churches could take a poll of the majority of their respective congregations, what percent would be majority Calvinistic, and how many would have a majority non-Calvinistic?
It seems since the famous letter was formed by the well oiled leadershp at the SBC, and the response from the radio entertainer opposing the letter, that the emphasis has been on denomination, not local church. Since the SBC has no governing authority, and is merely an association of local churches, the... -
Discussion of the first article of the "affirmations" and in particular Psalms 2
In the first article, the framers used Psalm 2 as a proof of "God’s desire for every person to be saved."
I thought I would begin by showing how one of their proofs was taken completely out of rational application.
Psalm 2:1-12;
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their... -

Articles of Affirmation and Denial
Article One: The Gospel
We affirm that the Gospel is the good news that God has made a way of salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for any person. This is in keeping with God’s desire for every person to be saved.
We deny that only a select few are capable of responding to the Gospel while the rest are predestined to an eternity in hell.
Genesis 3:15; Psalm 2:1-12; Ezekiel 18:23, 32; Luke 19.10; Luke... -
Al Mohler's response to SBC Statement
Just thought I'd post this...I hadn't seen anyone else link to it yet:
Southern Baptists and Salvation: It's Time to Talk - AlbertMohler.com
It is my opinion that Dr. Mohler has given a very wise and gracious response to the statement. What do you think?
