The forgiveness of sins !
Acts 13:38
Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
The word preached here is the greek word kataggellÅ and means:
to announce, declare, promulgate, make known
2) to proclaim publicly, publish
3) to denounce, report, betray
The word conveys the idea of making something known ! What is being made known or declared, or published to some is that they have by the grace of God, and through the redemption... -
working with Catholics
I have a question for everyone. There is a Pregnancy Crisis Center starting in our area. My wife was on staff at a different one in the past. It is a GREAT ministry, however it is a Parachurch ministry involving many different denominations. We just had our first meeting so I don't know how far it will go but my concern is that of the 40 people there about 35 were Catholic. Would you work in a ministry that helped to physically save babies but was lead by Catholics? -
The Catholic Church
I have began a study on Catholics to find out if what they believe could possibly, possibly be true.
Here is my first question. Can the Catholics really trace their history back to Peter and were they the first Church? If so and the reformation didn't happen until the 1500's with Martin Luther, were all the people up until the reformation doomed? -
Response to the problem of evil
I know a guy that used to go to my church a few year ago. He is a teenager and is mixed up with the wrong crowd. He currently does not go to any church. He is involved in homosexual sin. His friends are agnostic.
This morning on Facebook he posted the following quote.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?... -
Just How Close is Armageddon?
As the newest nuke/missiles are rolled down Mother Russia's main streets, do you think we may be closer to seeing Gog and Magog unleash its ferocious roar soone, and not later? :type:

Why Was Judas Remorseful
Mentioned briefly in another thread was a comparison of Peter and Judas. Both betrayed Christ, one was saved and the other lost. Peter expressed Godly sorrow immediately after the rooster crowed. Judas expressed remorse after Jesus was crucified. What was his motive in attempting to give back the silver to the Pharisees, then hanging himself? Does anyone think he was not lost? -
I have a question
I have been taught that we the gentiles are grafted in because the Jew rejected Jesus. They being the true vine. For now they are not being saved in any great numbers as this is the age of the gentile.
When the church is removed in the rapture will God turn from the gentile like He has the Jew and start saving the Jew instead of the gentile? Thanks for your replies. -
What Would You Do?
Here's a purely hypothetical situation, but I wonder what you'd do/advise/counsel if it ever arose in your family.
Suppose (just for the sake of argument) that you are a rather ardent KJVO adovcate and tried your best to to instill such a belief in your children as well.
One day your daughter (who is in, say, her early to mid 20's) tells you that she has met a young man about her same age who is just the most wonderful Christian young man she's ever met.......except for the fact that he... -
Elevation Church - Charlotte, NC
My son visited Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC with some of his friends so I visited one of their campuses on Sunday morning to check it out. The remote campus is very well organized and the pastor's sermon was fine though I am not especially fond of watching it on a big screen. I have little knowledge of the church except that its growth rate is incredible. Its statement of beliefs is sound.
Is there anyone here with first-hand knowledge or experience in this church?
Thanks. -
What is Lordship Salvation?
A definition of terms is helpful in any theological debate. In many of the debates on this board I witness two people arguing according to different definitions. They're not debating the same thing. Considering the present Lordship Salvation thread I think it's helpful to know what each side believes.
From the perspective of those who are adherents of Lordship Salvation, this soteriological view is divided into two distinct categories:
1. What transpires during the process of...
