4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
That those whom Christ died for are Justified before believing, which pleases God [Heb 11:6] is evident from the fact that God Justifieth the Ungodly ! The word Justify here is in the present tense, denoting He was or is Justifying the Ungodly, while they are or were The Ungodly....
This is a interesting question. I know that demons can posses false converts and the unsaved. They can influence Christians, and according to some theologians (Erwin Lutzer & Tim Layhe) demons can appear as actual people, just as what you see when you watch a certain episode in the X-files Season 8. I am not sure of all the passages that Lutzer and Layhe use to back up that theology. So the question is can they be people?
Once I was out street witnessing and encountered a man that was not...
As regards to seeing his letters addressing salvation, not seeing that he onterpreted the Law and Justification from sense of how jewish teachers would understand it, not as we gentiles took it to mean?
God has called all to repent and believe in his Son in order to receive eternal life, so can man do that apart from the work of the HS to provide that?
I am in church last night and out pastor was speaking on the Past, Present and Future of Jesus. One of the verses was Hebrews 10:28.
"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin, unto salvation."
What jumped off the page at me was, "...appear the second time without sin,"
Now for sure I believe Jesus was sinless..., but he was in the flesh. We know the flesh represents sin by it's very...
FOREST: There is a salvation in coming unto a knowledge of the truth but it is not eternal salvation. It is a salvation (deliverance) that we receive here in this world as soon as we understand. Most of the salvation scriptures are deliverances we receive here in this world. The only time that it is talking about eternal salvation is when we are delivered from this present evil world.
I thought we might dedicate a thread for Forest (& Kyredneck, if he so desires) to give a BIBLICAL...
All Scriptures quoted from the NASB
Joh 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
Joh 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 8:42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me.
Joh 8:43 "Why do you not...
I noticed that your subscript says you play the banjo
Yes, I do. The banjo is my primary instrument these days. But prior to taking up the banjo, I started years ago with the acoustic and electric guitar, then the dobro. I have never taken lessons, but at the very beginning I got a chord chart. After learning the chords I would just play around with the instrument until I figured it out.
May I ask you if you are one of those people who are just...
John 6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
This is possibly the strongest verse in the Bible for the doctrine of eternal security.
A. "The Father's will" in context does not refer to the REVEALED WILL of God but as verse 37 demonstrates it refers to the DETERMINATE WILL of God because every single one the Father gives does in fact come to Christ, whereas, the...
