Alan Keyes arrested and now out of jail

"I do not see any issue that I have with civil authority, and therefore no civil disobedience is involved," Keyes told WND. "The civil authorities are acting on behest of a private party, in this case Father Jenkins, president of Notre Dame. When I set foot on Notre Dame's campus, I am, in fact, on Notre Dame's property, but that property is also part – according to its own statement – of the community of my faith. So what goes on between myself and Notre Dame is then subject to the laws that govern the community of our faith; and those are not the civil laws, but the laws of God.

Witness the moral tug-of-war of a college student wrestling with the issue of abortion in the Christian film "Come What May" on DVD from the WND Superstore.

"It is not disobedience," Keyes continued. "I am obeying the church's teaching and the laws of God. Father Jenkins, in issuing the order he issued, acted unlawfully. When I act according to God's will, and someone moves against me in that context, they go against the will of God, they are unlawful, and unlawful orders do not have to be obeyed.

"There was no civil disobedience going on; there was obedience going on," Keyes insisted. "And obedience is what this is all about – obedience to the law of God."

Wow!
That was quick!

What a gutsy fellow! :applause::thumbsup:

Kudos and God bless Alan Keyes and keep him strong and powerful in his stand against abortion and abortion supporters.

I thought that it was amazing that he didn't even have to post any bond to get out. Maybe the authorities were worried that his pro-life stance was very infectious.

Unfortunately we will have to deal with such things as this until we are able to get those idiotic votes made for our new "messiah" president reversed. Surely those who voted for this man will come to their senses one day!

Yeah...good luck with that! :laugh: And he may be your messiah, but he isn't mine. He IS however, my President! There must be some bad mojo in the water supply in Florida!

Surely those who voted for this man will come to their senses one day!
Alllllrighty then! :sleep:

Alan Keyes was on Hannity on Friday to talk about the protests & his arrest, but unfortuantely I missed all of the broadcasts of the show. The first one, I had to run my friend to work. The second & third broadcasts, I slept through because I had to be at work early the next morning.

Actually, there was a small bond that was required, and this was posted electronically by a supporter of his in New England, after he or she had heard about this (and without the knowledge and against the actual wishes of Alan Keyes, according to his own words which I personally heard him say on the radio). The bond being satisfied, they had no other reason to hold him and so 'released' him. He does have to appear in court at a future time around the end of the month, on this.

Yeah, I found out. There was a $250.00 bond. That was according to wikipedia.com.
