"In 2003 while lobbying leaders to put together the Coalition of the Willing, President Bush spoke to France's President Jacques Chirac. Bush wove a story about how the Biblical creatures Gog and Magog were at work in the Middle East and how they must be defeated. . . .

"The story of the conversation emerged only because the Elyse Palace, baffled by Bush's words, sought advice from Thomas Romer, a professor of theology at the University of Lausanne. Four years later, Romer gave an account in the September 2007 issue of the university's review, Allez savoir. The article apparently went unnoticed, although it was referred to in a French newspaper.

"The story has now been confirmed by Chirac himself in a new book, published in France in March, by journalist Jean Claude Maurice. Chirac is said to have been stupefied and disturbed by Bush's invocation of Biblical prophesy to justify the war in Iraq and "wondered how someone could be so superficial and fanatical in their beliefs".
. . ."

If Mr. Bush truly sought :praying: God's gudiance on a daily basis, would that make it "holy"

Frankly, I wouldn't believe anything Mr. Chiroc says, good or bad.

Bush is no longer in office. The libs need to find a new scapegoat.

Is it possible to comment on anything President Bush did without being attacked by people like you? Is he now totally off limits?

Guess he is off limites. After all he is out of office now and thus, in some minds, not responsible for any of the disasters that came about during his 8 years in office. :)

I think if you want to attack Bush & be fair about it, why not say he wasn't as conservative as he should have been? Let's face it Bush had his moments where I agreed with him, but still he's no conservative. He's what I called the "Diet Coke" of conservative. He has the fizz that a coke has, but doesn't taste the same.

Our economic state occured largely while Bush was in office. Obama was elected to office because people had faith in his unproven abilities to take care our situation. He shouldn't be looking backward blaming Bush for our problems. He needs to be fixing the problem.

I will be fair to Obama. A president generally inherits what the previous president left behind within the first two years of their term. I'll give you some expamples:

1. When Ronald Reagan took office in 1981, unemployment was up. This was as a result of Jimmy Carter's work (or lack thereof) when he was president.

2. When George H.W. Bush took office, communism in the former U.S.S.R. colapsed. This was as a result of Ronald Reagan's military spending. The Russians couldn't keep up. This also put us into a recession.

3. When Bill Clinton took office, the economy jumped back up. This was attributed to George H.W. Bush's work.

4. When George W. Bush took office, shortly after we had the terrorist attacks. This was largely attributed to Bill Clinton not pursuing Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance & making numerous national defense spending cuts.

Make no mistake. Obama is off to a bad start. He has spent more of our money than all of those presidents I mentioned combined. He has taken over our banks & the auto industry. I honestly believe that he will put us into another depression. Once that happens, then that will open the door for him to implement more of his socialist policies.

Just one time try staying to the subject of the thread instead of commenting on someone else's post.

Now back to the thread. I agree with bossman's last post, except he is being nice to Bush. I put him in the liberal catagory. Before this flaming liberal President (Obama), he (Bush)and his Congress were the biggest spenders in American history. I see nothing holy about the war in Iraq. It is up for debate as to whether it was necessary or not, but certainly not holy.

I do not like using the word holy for anything that has any connection to either of the two major parties or those who hold office in Washington. I can think of lots words to describe them besides holy.

I didn't attack anyone, and no, Bush wasn't perfect. It's just that I'm tired of hearing the libs sing the millionth verse to the same song "It's Bush's Fault."
Talk about hate--that's all we hear about Bush. It's time to move on, go forward. You can't do that while facing backwards all the time.

I agree, just as the cons need to stop this harping of theirs about President Obama's birth certificate and where he was reared during his childhood.

I'm not totally nice to him. I call it down the middle. Bush was by no means a conservative. I though he was better than Clinton. So far, I think he was better than Obama is. Only time will tell.

The only reason I didn't go to where Obama took office is because we still don't know what will happen when Obama's 1st term is over with. I believe we are headed for disaster. I hope I am totally wrong about that.

"bho" has created more disasters in 4 months than Bush did in 8 years. "bho" has basically accomplished in that 4 months what democrats have been trying to do since FDR, make the United States a Fascist state!:tear::tear:
