I bet Ahmadinejad had the election rigged.

I added up the percentages that article had on those who ran & it only added up to 99%. When you giving percentages, it must always add up to 100%.

    Not so:
Fractions may be rounded up or down to the nearest whole number. When a vote is split more than 2 ways..... depending upon whether its rounded to the nearest hundreth or thousandth or a percent..... ect., still that last percentage point, or two, is likely lost in values which were less tha a half point and therefore rounded down.
Sometimes there are also other reasons besides the math.

Figures which don't 'add up' may or may not indicate a rigged election......... but good fgures don't necessarairily prove the Iran election wasn't rigged.

But then..... we're really one to wonder.
Our own elections have credibility problems. Even those areas which have paper ballots...... are computer 'read' and tallied. And it is highly doubtful that each county has a randomized check of the machines and their programming.....to make sure or verify the results are correct with the paper ballot count. Even verifying voters' registration has its difficulties. I remember 10 years ago changing my address to the next county. A year after having voted in the new county where I resided.....I received a forwarded mail...... containing a new replacement to my old voter's registration card in the former county.

There aren't any Democrats there so there will not be no call for nonsensical recounts and dimpled chads.

Oh, I see! It is fine for a Republican to endlessly challenge an election, but not a Democrat. Thanks for clearing that up!

I never said it was wrong to challenge an election.

Since this is off topic, it is being closed. A new thread can be started about the Iranian elections if you choose to discuss that topic. Thanks.
