"He's said to be a Buddhist," Hume said. "I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. ... Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery."

Truth, plain and simple..... is often not accepted as it is much too plain and too simple. So sad.... people with a terminal spiritual condition look for the waters of their own creation instead of following God and obediance to the gospel. Philosophys, meditation, exercises, etc.... don't save.... but Jesus can and does!

If anyone can find fault with Brit on this issue, they had better check their faith!...
I know it is highly unusual, and maybe has never happened, but I bet ALL Baptistboarders will agree on this issue! From liberals to right wingers... if you are a Christian, you have to defend what Brit said...

Because if you disagree with it.. something is wrong.

Yep, I think this is something we all agree on. I also would like to see Mr. Woods reconcile with his wife, but that's doubtful for obvious reasons.

That was quite a sermon in just a few words and by someone who is not seminary educated.

I'm glad he said it. If Tiger Woods doesn't grasp it, perhaps someone else listening to him did. Who knows why the Lord led him to said that? We may never know.

And of course MSNBC is making fun of Brit Hume... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR7EPk-f-Lo

***Warning... this video will make you mad if you are a Christian***

Wow comparing Brit Hume to Jihadists... and making fun of the fact that Jesus forgives!... Hell is going to be very hot for people that ignores Jesus' forgiveness... It is so sad to see people persecuted because of their faith in Jesus... Pray for Brit Hume.. and pray that God will close Keith Olbermann's mouth!... It can be done!... Things like this get me sooo fired up!.. Oprah is worshipped although she argues there are many paths to God, and Brit Hume is flamed because he had the nerve to suggest Tiger turn to Jesus for forgiveness and redemption...

There is no other way to Heaven except through Jesus...

Period, discussion over.. that is the way it is......

YES Christianity is better than Buddhism, Islam, or any other religion because Christianity is the ONLY way to Heaven. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me."...

Turn off MSNBC and turn on FOX!...

Imagine the Obama worshippers are upset with a person that suggests that Jesus alone can give forgiveness and redemption.

    Who would have imagined?....

Let me give you all some relief from your anger.

About an hour ago, I led one of my sixth graders to Christ. He told me that he didn't know if he was really saved and I led him through Romans 10:9-10 and we prayed together.

I am going to contact his mother and tell her so that she can contact their pastor and he can receive further counseling about his decision.

Today, in my circle - there is good news to hear. :godisgood:

Brit Hume was talking about what could benefit Tiger (the saving grace of Jesus Christ), not how good a Christian he would be…though he was speculating what a pleasure it would be to see him turn his life around through Christ, and what fine evangelism that would be, in the event.

This is one of the reasons l watch Fox. I can't see the other major networks airing this.
    Praise God!

A total recovery of what? An idolatrous earthly life? He can't recover as a person, because there is nothing to recover. He's simply a stinking bag of worms, a plot of thorns and thistles whose end is to be burned.

The Gospel, can give one life, however, and the remedy is for sin—sin itself, not the recovery of a proud and idolatrous living death.

Hume's heart was in the right place, though, and there was enough of the truth that he's catching heat for even suggesting that Christianity was superior to another religion. I'll support him just for that, but he may want to consult Spurgeon, Calvin, Luther or Paul before trying to preach again.

I think you are being too harsh on Hume. He wasn't speaking as a theologian but as a TV commentator and putting out an invitation to consider Christ. I think "total recovery" probably refers to getting back on track with his marriage and normal life - I wouldn't try to read too much into that. Perhaps "total healing" would be a better term, but I'm not going to criticize what Hume said here because the fact that he said something like this only deserves encouragement and thanks.

Hume changed and became more closer to Christ after his son in 1998 committed suicide. That is what made him closer to God.

I recommend Ann Coulter's column this week. She talks about this story and the mainstream media reaction to what Brit Hume said.

You can find it at the Drudge Report. http://www.drudgereport.com
