Let me give you all some relief from your anger.
About an hour ago, I led one of my sixth graders to Christ. He told me that he didn't know if he was really saved and I led him through Romans 10:9-10 and we prayed together.
I am going to contact his mother and tell her so that she can contact their pastor and he can receive further counseling about his decision.

The Gospel, can give one life, however, and the remedy is for sin—sin itself, not the recovery of a proud and idolatrous living death.
Hume's heart was in the right place, though, and there was enough of the truth that he's catching heat for even suggesting that Christianity was superior to another religion. I'll support him just for that, but he may want to consult Spurgeon, Calvin, Luther or Paul before trying to preach again.
