501 Shopping Days Until Armageddon

.....That is, according to Harold Camping, who owns Family Radio, and has declared that Jesus will return on May 21, 2011 (he's really gutsy to make another prediction after his failed prediction that Jesus would return in 1994).

This article has photos of his followers with signs that Jesus is coming back on that date.

“2011 Warning in Pictures”. That was the title of the email that arrived in Kevin Bloom’s in-box last night. Yesterday, our writer put together a piece about millenarianism that focused on media evangelist Harold Camping and his 2011 doomsday predictions. Camping, wrote Bloom, had been wrong about the Second Coming once before (September 6, 1994), but fifteen years later his followers were betting that next time (May 21, 2011) he’d be right. <more>

What I want to know is how many of them will give all of their belongings away to the needy on May 20th.

How many of them would run up their credit cards on the 20th to buy food for the needy??

Oh - I guess they don't trust it THAT much.

I would like to know the names of those specific people so I can let them know of my poverty and they can legally turn over to me some or all of their possessions and money the night before.

Hey it is the christian thing to do to provide for the needy right? Especially if your not going to be here to use it :)

If they don't have that much faith.. aren't we supposed to encourage them to walk the walk of faith

Actually, Ann, it is not uncommon for cults who have predicted the return of Jesus to give all their stuff away beforehand. This has happened numerous times. There was a group in Korea, I think, that did this a few years ago. And other groups have done it. So I would not be surprised if they do give away their possession before that date.

"Just sign your house over to me today because you won't need it tomorrow"

Think they'll fall for it?

No!! No way. Someone needs to email Heaven and inform the Trinity that this is one year and seven months before the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012, and that this would cause a cosmic crisis. If all that time was cut off the Mayan calendar, Jupiter would not have time to align with Mars, and peace could not guide the planets.

Mr Harold Camping needs some duct tape permanently attached to his mouth, as these types of antics make a mockery of the Gospel and our faith.

You know, one great thing about time ending at the Mayan calendar date, is that Obama would have been reelected in November and never get to take office.

What kind of Terminator fan are you? Do you not know that Judgement Day was August 29, 1997, the day SkyNet went online? :wavey:
