Even though I normally don't watch Glenn Beck I did see much of the show with Massa. I think Beck thought that this disgraced, former congressman would be able to provide some "inside dirt". However that did not happen. Therefore the large amount of time spent with the congressman was, indeed, a waste of Beck's time. I think Beck realized what was happening but by then it was too late to do anything about it. This kind of thing happens to every public speaker, broadcaster, or teacher at some point. I know preachers who have said that a sermon just fell flat. I have had lectures fall flat. But what do you do? Once you are on the air or in front of a church or class there is nothing you can do but persevere. While I am not a Glenn Beck fan, I sort of felt sorry for him yesterday.

I have no doubt that Massa was threatened and bullied about his healthcare vote. That's the normal gangster tactics of the Obama administration.

However, I must say that Massa seems to be a despicable wast of human flesh. His actions are in keeping with democrats everywhere. Always blame others for your shortcomings. Always lie when the truth is easier. And never stop whining.

Let's not forget that it was the nut job libbies/dems that elected Massa.

    It's the dem's circus - not Beck's.

I don't watch Beck, or any of his ilk. I find them foolish.

His comments urging people to leave church if anything was mentioned about helping the poor or sick have made him even more repugnant at this point.

Any comments Beck would make concerning church are moot since he's Mormon.

That's not even remotely what he said. Just because he's a Mormon doesn't make it right for you to lie about him.

He was talking about liberal churches and their promotion of the political concept of "social justice", not charity or helping the poor and sick.

Preaching Jesus and Crabby don't like Beck because he tells the truth about liberals and their real agenda. Good try though Crabby.

Out of curiousity, "PreachingJesus" (an ironic screen name for somebody who has no problems lying about people because they disagree with him), do you know how Communism gained such a foothold in Central America?

Fine. That's their right not to like him. There are certainly people on their side I don't like.

But it isn't just that they don't like him or others who believe similarly to him, but the constant lying, false accusations, character assassination, etc.

Why can't liberals just argue something based on it's own merits?

You'll never see a liberal say "I believe Glenn Beck is wrong because of ''X', 'Y', and 'Z". They always say something like "That racist, homophobic, scumbag, Glenn Beck, wants to kill old people! He wants to deny the poor healthcare!"

Take the ironically named "Preaching Jesus". Not only did he lie about Beck, but then called him "repugnant". Why? Even if Beck had said that, how would that justify calling him repugnant?

The truth is, while charity is a noble thing, it is not and should not be the primary focus of a church. It's true that the church is called to help the poor within the church and then the poor among the non-saved, but we're never told that that is our mission. Rather, the kindness of charity toward those who cannot help themselves is an illustration of the mercy God shows through the Gospel of salvation we preach, but is not the Gospel itself.

Essentially, the Bible tells us that there are five key purposes of the church:

    1. To gather for the corporate preaching and teaching of the word of God
    2. To gather for corporate worship
    3. To submit one to another for discipline and accountability
    4. To edify one another through the edifying gifts of the Holy Spirit
    5. To preach the Gospel

Nowhere in scripture are we told that the purpose of the church is to do charity, but that charity is a natural result of what happens when a church is in the will of God.

So, even though Preaching Jesus lied about what Beck says, even if he had said it, he might have had a good case for saying so, as I believe I've just shown that there is a good case to seperate from a church when the focus on charity outweighs the focus on the five purposes of the church outlined in scripture.

I guess that makes me "repugnant", too.

    But I digress...

If CTB were intellectually honest, he would admit that Beck got frustrated with Massa, felt like the interview was a waste of time, and basically thought him to be a disgusting individual. And, Beck said so. But why mess up a good point ("good" used very loosely) with intellectual honesty?

From what I read Beck was upset primarily because he lost control of the program. He had more on his hands than he could handle. Massa is a nut case and it is very difficult to control where such a person is going. Beck must have know he had a nut case coming on the program but figured he could use that to his advantage. He couldn't and didn't and it bit him.

You cannot win an argument with a real nut case.

Beck never said anything of the sort. That is just liberal spin. He made clear what his concern was. And he was never upset.

Why are you wasting your time watching Beck when you should be visiting the new members of your congregation and getting to know the unsaved in your part of New Mexico?
