The Jonas Brothers aren't very good. I can't stand their teen pop music. Secondly, why are they having a secular group perform at their Easter service?

Because Warren and Saddleback are essentially secular anyway?

I don't think that's fair. I've got issues with Rick Warren, but I've seen nothing to indicate that he is anything but a dedicated pastor.

Oh I agree, he is dedicated. He's dedicated to building his church (his being lower case, and meaning Warren's).

I'm anticipating a great service where Christ is preached!

Pastor Warren has a great way of presenting the Gospel and I am thankful for his continued ministry. :)

You are mistaken, my young Padawan learner, I am not necessarily a RW lover, but I refuse to line up with those intent on tearing him down. That cannot honor Christ.

Well said. I might not personally enjoy some of his teaching, but I cannot condemn a man who has been used of God to reach so many with the Gospel.

You understand we are talking about Rick Warren, the guy who said:

You do know what "Isa" is right? It's the Jesus that Islam teaches about, which is certainly not Jesus Christ that died for the sins of the world.

Rick Warren double speaks his way through life in an attempt to make sure no one can nail him down on any one thing. Just take his flip flopping views on homosexuality. The guy is a smooth talker that enjoys being in the spot light. Used of God? Warren has led enough people astray that I would never say he was used of God.

I think Arabic speaking Christians use the term Isa.

Strictly speaking, the Jonas Brothers are not secular. They are Christians and I believe, all took a true love waits type of purity vow (the oldest one just married however). They don't necessarily play Christian music, though I am not familiar with their music anyway so I'm not sure. However, they did make it big in the secular world but as far as I know, do not sing using fowl language or some of the stuff secular bands do.

I am not endorsing or criticizing the Jonas Brothers by this post, merely posting info to correct your statement that they are secular.

Muslims use Yasu in the Q'ran as well...your point? Oh, I forgot...you don't have one, you just want to bash RW at all cost. Fact is Isa is a perfectly legit arabic name for Jesus, is used by arabic speaking Christians, and you have basically played God by trying to tell us what was in RW's heart when he said that prayer. No shame!

This is a "current event"? I missed the memo from God telling me the Jonas Brothers were not allowed to sing or use their talent in an Easter service especially in church

Have any proof for that? My understanding and research shows that they do not use Yasu in their book.

Of course, in your blind faith to Warren you missed the point, which is that Arabic Christians don't use Isa.

My faith is in Christ, first off...and second, I'm sure you already knew that with the advent of Koranic literature in the seventh century, Isa replaced Yasu in referring to Christ. All muslims referred to Jesus as Yasu prior to that. While many Christians may still use Yasu, it is more of a matter of preference like KJVO.

No, you are wrong. Have you talked to arabic christians? Where are you getting your information from? Do some research and you will find that arabic christians do not use Esa or Isa, except in situations where they are trying to convert muslims. (see the other thread on the camel method for why this is wrong, btw).

I'm not going to keep going around and around on this...your OWN SOURCE you quote even claims Christians use Isa. Case closed. I'd repent for judging RW's heart.
