If you did, let's hear how you spent this most recent doomsday?

My day was not spent fretting, in fact, I kept thinking all week, that if this guy is correct, we be with Jesus sometime on May 21st! Unfortunately, preachers like the one in Frisco tend to blemish the church, but, not the truth that He is coming like a "thief in the night!"

Now tell me what thief ever announces or warns his victims of their intent to rob them?

So where were you and what did you do as "doom's day" came and passed??? :tonofbricks:

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul :type:

I spent it just like I spend any Saturday, going about doing what needed to be done for the day. I can't say I gave much thought to his doomsday prediction other than when I read the posts yesterday morning and looked at that thread and at around 5, before we had dinner and I checked in here again.
I knew it was all hooey to begin with as scripture is quite clear that no man knoweth the day or hour and I doubted God made an exception. When the Rapture does happen it will be like a thief in the night and the world will be left in chaos.

    What did I do?

Cleaned the house (had to be done)
    Worked on a quilt
    Yelled at kids
    Made sure everyone was fed
    Washed clothes

    Yeah, usual day!

If they did not then they would not post today. Some for sure that day went onto a Christless eternity while others went onto be with Christ.

Hubby and I went to our local yacht club for commissioning (the official start of the season). He was there to pray at the opening ceremonies and then we had a lovely dinner (chateaubriand), danced a bit, witnessed to many people and found out about a brother in Christ who was diagnosed with lymphoma and we now know to pray for him (they've kept it quiet from everyone but once they heard about my daughter's pancreatic tumor, they let us know about their struggle). It was a wonderful night with many seeds sown. :)

I was at the second day of a couples retreat...and we forgot all about it until the evening was over.

Tony Miano (of Ray Comfort's WOTM ministry) asked on Facebook which we thought was the bigger sin: those who declared the date of the Rapture, or those who made fun of the declaration....

What say ye? (knowing that all sin is equal)

Is mocking a sin? I don't remember a "thou shalt not" for it.

Guess that leaves Camping squarely in the middle of the consequences of his own actions.

No comment on WOTM since I'm not terribly familiar with them. However the guy who made the quote obviously didn't think things through.

I'm not the least bit sorry for making fun. You'd think these date-setters would learn after a few centuries of being wrong 100% of the time. They deserve all the ridicule we can muster.

I think Tony meant that making fun of the Rapture is a sin.

I don't make fun of the Rapture, meaning ridicule it. But I have joked about it.

My brother-in-law and I had a running joke about it. He was dispensationalist and I'm not, so he believed in a pre-trib rapture. He used to tell me, "when the rapture comes, I'm grabbing your hand. You're going with me whether you want to or not."

"And if you still want to argue about it, I'm gonna let go."

Came through it without a scratch.

Although, for a while at work, things looked a little dicey.

The computers at the hotel I work at were acting goofy all morning. Finally around 1:30pm they crashed all together. Thought for sure it was the end of the world, then I realized that I just needed to reset the server. After that, all was fine. :D

An Associated Press article in todays paper say the following:

"California preacher Harold Camping said Monday that his prophecy that the world would end was off by five months because judgement day actually will come Oct. 21."

I guess he no longer believes in the rapture?
