That makes no sense. Such cannot be literal days. what kind of mental gymnastics is used to make such a case.

The kind of mental gymnastics that certain people use, when they care more what atheist scientists say, than what God says.

before we go on to "denounce" someone for their held opinions...

PLEASE verify IF they are brothers/sisters in Christ, if they are , then the Lord will ask us to be respectful in stating to them the objections based on science/bible evidences, but we should NOT be "trashing" them...

For I am very sure ALL of us have help positions that God could "trash" us for!

Um, no. The Biblical approach is to be kind and understanding of the lost; false teachers, who are or claim to be in the ranks of Christendom (whichever the case may be), are to be denounced and refuted.

Saying that someone is attacking God's Word, when they are attacking God's Word, is not "trashing" them, it is merely stating a fact.

If someone punches me in the face, and I say "You just punched me in the face!" And they reply "No sir. I just kissed you with my knuckles," they are playing semantic games. Likewise, the person who bends their knee to secular science, and denies (they call it "interprets")what God's Word clearly says, is playing semantic games. They are attacking it. This is not "Trashing,"...it is just a statement of fact.

Agree with you about false teachers and false doctrines...

Just saying that the Bible has us to be "Christ like" when dealing with real Christians who just might have a mixed up theology, try to help them/encourage them to see their wrongs, and help them to learn and believe the right!

It means the 6 literal days weren't 24 hour days but a day that lasted millions of years.

Other than that pesky little Hebrew term for day -- yom -- and the other little modifier that makes sure that we understand the context -- "and the evening and the morning were the ____ day..." you might be on to something.

Also, we have Jesus explaining that the earth was created in 6 days... Surely He would have known the error of His ways had those days been other than litteral!

The cite below from Answers in Genesis will suffice to illustrate my point:

Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you –Moses, in whom you trust. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words? (John 5:45-47). In this passage, Jesus makes it clear that one must believe what Moses wrote. And one of the passages in the writings of Moses in Exodus 20:11 states: For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. This, of course, is the basis of our seven-day week –six days work and one day rest. Obviously, this passage was meant to be taken as speaking of a total of seven literal days based on the Creation week of six literal days of work and one literal day of rest.

In fact, in Luke 13:14, in his response to Jesus healing a person on the Sabbath, the ruler of the synagogue, who knew the law of Moses, obviously referred to this passage when he said, There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day. The Sabbath day here was considered an ordinary day, and the six days of work were considered ordinary days. This teaching is based on the law of Moses as recorded in Exodus 20,where we find the Ten Commandments –the six- day Creation week being a basis for the Fourth Commandment.

This has been noted in other threads but just for the record:

The Theory of Evolution has biological creation under the law of death for millions of years preceding modern man - "Adam and Eve" (whoever and whatever they are in the evolutionary venue).

Yet the Scripture plainly states that death entered the world after Adam's creation via his offence.

HankD

Actually, no, it doesn't say death entered the world. It says, "death spread to all men."

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— [NKJV]

12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned— [NASB]

12Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— [ESV]

No sir. It is you that need to read it again. Lets break that verse up...

#1 Through one man sin entered the world

#2 Death entered the world, through sin

#3 Death, having entered the world through that man's sin, then spread to all men.

Death itself, this scripture says, entered the world through the sin of Adam. Then, having entered the world, it spread to all men.

Further,

Rom 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
Rom 8:21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.

I am being Christ like.

Mat 23:15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

Joh 2:15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables.

I am also being Paul-Like...

Gal 2:11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.

Act 13:10 and said, "You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?

I disagree with you brother, the entire point in the section of Romans Paul is speaking of death being the separation or relationship between man and God.

Genesis 2:17

17but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat[a] of it you shall surely die." (ESV)

Obviously Adam did not die on that day of the Fall, thus there must be a different (hidden) meaning of death here other than what you are suggesting.

How about the jesus though who "weeped" over city of jerusalem longing and desiring they would come back to God?

What about the Apostle paul who :longed: so much to have his fellow bethren, Jews, come to jesus that he was willing to "go to Hell" in order to see them saved?

Genesis 2:17 "YOU must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when YOU eat of it You will surely die.

Romans 5:12

Romans 5:12 is also clearly speaking of human sin, and by strong inference, the term "death" here likewise refers to human death. After all, no where does the Bible indicate that salvation is offered to any creatures except humans, or even that animals have souls or are capable of sin. In fact, in the creation record, animals are said to be embued with the "nefesh" where mankind has the "nefesh" and "neshama" (breath of God). Furthermore, the allusion to Adam's sin in this verse argues that it too discussing spiritual rather than physical death, Adam did not physically die the day he ate the forbidden fruit.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,
and death by sin...

Sin and death entered the world through Adam.

All I know is that if oil comes from the carcuses of dead dinosaurs there must have been billions of them almost up to the time of Christ in order to produce just the oil this country has used since 1900.. Truthfully I don't believe oil comes from dinosaurs as scientist claim. There has to be some other source. Most likely vegatation of some kind.

Even if you allow for vegetation to be the source of oil you have to explain how decaying vegetation could form crude oil in less than 4,500 years. Care to take a shot at explaining that?

While you're at it, explain how coal and coral reef formations could have occurred in only 4,500 years.

Think about the earth and Noah's day all those people and animals that perished with the flood. Then think about the pressures up them as they settled in pockets under the newly formed geological regions while the earth was completely encompassed with water. You see how the decaying bodies would have formed oil pockets all over the earth.

Nope. It says "death." Death came into the world, not something else.

I guess Jesus didn't really "die" either.
