....A mid size, SBC university located in Riverside, CA took administrative action against a male-to-female transgender transfer student, and expelled her/him before the start of the Fall semester.

Was this the proper decision, or do you believe the university officials over reacted?

What say ye???

By the way, if any on this forum believes that I purposely set out to over sensationalize this post, I apologize!

[quoteJavier, 24, said she has identified herself as female since she was a toddler and correctly clicked the space next to “female” on the online application form.
“I didn’t do anything wrong,” she said. “They said, ‘On your application form you put ‘female.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s how I see myself.’”[/quote]

I want to see myself as black so that my kids can get extra scholarships too but there's something about genetics that come into play. You have an XY chromosome, you're a dude. Plain and simple.

California law prohibits employment, housing, government, insurance and other types of discrimination based upon gender identity. But private universities generally are not covered by the law, said Mark Wood, an attorney with the San Francisco-based Transgender Law Center.

That's clear enough. They are in their rights to do so. The applicant lied. They expelled her.

I wonder what pretext to discriminate they would have come up with had she checked the "dude" box.

This was the correct decision. This man is not a woman. He is a disfigured male in disguise taking drugs to keep us the charade. I give them a three thumbs up for the expulsion!
:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

However I do not like the idea of why they expelled this man. They should have been honest that his orientation of homosexuality goes against the schools biblical standing and expelled him for that.

Very good question. If the student had checked the "Male" box should that student sill have been expelled?

Absolutely he is still a transgender and perhaps a homosexual. As long as the school is a Christian school they should hold to Christian values.

To prove other than the public admission of transgender, the school would have to provide evidence of whatever perversion they would charge him with should he file a law suit.

I don't think they want to go there.

What they did was to take the path of least resistance by using the self-confessed charge of deception to expel him and personally I don't blame them.

Even at that, some lawyer may/could volunteer gratis services and challenge the school.

If the school was wise and being lead by wise men they would already have in their convenient wording that excludes anyone engaged in such activities as this requiring any new enrollment to openly state their position on such. They are a private school as well as one representing Christ and have every right to exclude who ever they so desire. There are all female colleges and no one is upset so this should be no different.

And most likely will.....lets wait and see. If so, I suspect that this may have been the intention all along. Corrupt society loves to play "gotcha" with anything christian in order to score points.

I say repeal the Civil Rights Act. It's time we learn to recognize federal overreach in all its guises.

True, they are a private school but soon we may see that distinction removed (ala Supreme Court) related to these kinds of exclusionary policies.

The present "Human Rights" movement of Secular Humanism which includes gender orientation will in all probabilty eventually be legislated and will trump all other "moral" issues.

And it will be tested shortly thereafter by folks demanding membership in these exclusionary institutions incuding churches.

Apart from the Second Coming of course.
