McDonald's created a new website just for black people, which make up only 12% of the population. I don't like McDonald's. Without exception, every time I've been inside one there's a bunch of low-class employees and a bunch of low-class customers. Not to mention, the food is just nasty.

Anyway, I find it amazing that we in this country have set diversity on such a pedestal that we have companies making ridiculous websites like this. Black power and hamburgers have nothing to do with each other unless you've accepted the PC myth that diversity is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Who cares? It's a free market country and they want to provide something that reaches one of their primary constituencies.

A quick google search will show you that minoirties make up 68% of their domestic workforce and 45% of their domestic sales. Why shouldn't they do what they can to connect with minority, particularly African-American customers?

Low class employess and customers? That's not even close to cool to say that, nor does it come across as even mildly Christian.

I'm simply amazed that Gods people refer to others that we are to reach in this manner.

This is totally unnecessary and ridiculous.

White people make up 74% of the population, so if anything McDonald's should be trying to connect with whites for being under-represented.

Have you ever been to a McDonald's? Most of the employees are as dumb as a bag of rocks and act in a ghetto manner and it drives me nuts. The last time I was in a McDonald's it was about three months ago and it seemed like almost all of the other customers were illegal Mexicans who can't speak English.

Ya know, Paul, for a liberal, you're pretty racist.

I have said nothing negative about any race. I do find it telling that instead of addressing why McDonald's bows down before the diversity idol, you choose to call me names.

So you carded all the Mexicans?

Maybe they should've carded you instead.

Your attitude is unChristian. I'd say you're also racist to boot.

Certainly anyone can tell how you would treat others in the world that you happen to not like.

Thank God Christ is absolutely not like you.

I get it- I'm racist because I'm a Hispanic man who doesn't like going to McDonald's and I want to enforce immigration laws.

No, you're a racist by your actions, not your ethnicity. This is clearly seen in your words.

Again, I thank God that Christ is absolutely not like you.

Your description of others as low class is unChrist-like behavior.

That you cannot see this is interesting indeed.

I did not call any racial or ethnic group low-class. It's a figment of your imagination.

My mistake, must have been my imagination that you called patrons at MD as "low class citizens"

I said most McDonald's patrons in my experience are low-class. I never said you were low-class; I never said any racial or ethnic group is low-class.

Addressing why McDonald's bows down before the diversity idol was addressed; it has to do with "target marketing" and appealing to demographics (see post #2 in this thread).

McDonald's focus on one particular target demographic could be easily argued as "data indicates a large percentage of sales comes from xx demographic"; YOU chose to comment about "black power" and "low-class" and "ghetto manner." Whether you wish to admit it or not, this indicates a bias towards a certain demographic of the population. That's also called "racism."

The obvious question here is: McDonald's mentions on this site that we should celebrate African-American culture 365 days a year, not just during Black History month; will McDonald's also be developing a "365Asian" web site? Or "365Hispanic" web site? Or any of the other races that we currently have months set aside to "celebrate"?

THAT should be the topic for discussion, without prejudicial language like "ghetto manner" that causes automatic communication filters.

Just because I used those words in the same post doesn't make them connected like that. There are many ghetto, low-class people or all races. I never said any specific race was low-class or ghetto.

First off, Hispanic isn't a race. Secondly, you've hit on my point. This isn't about celebrating black American culture; it's about political correctness and trying to appear diverse.

What you're saying is you believe the language I used to describe McDonald's customers and employees is prejudicial and puts up barriers that obfuscate the real issue, right?
