As I watched a television news report last night, I was confused as it seemed like a great number of protesters were actively "Patronizing those rich evil corporations" as follows:

    • Many of them seem to have fairly expensive cell phones, and those phones are hooked up to costly services from "evil corporations!
    • Many more protesters held 3G and 4G pads in their hands, while they raised their fists to demonstrate their anger with "evil corporations!" Of course, these 3 and 4G message pads were again hooked up to the services of many different web sites provided, one way or the other, by those "evil corporations!
    • As the cameras went by those sitting in the tents and on the rapidly dying lawns, I couldn't help but notice that many more of the protestors were either texting (or reading a text) on their hand-held cell phones, hooked up to services provided by "evil corporations!" And there were many more occupiers making active use of laptop computers, hooked up to WiFi signals, that were being provided by, again, "evil corporations!"
    • Most of the demonstrators seemed to be living fairly comfortable as they camped out in protest to those "evil corporations." I'd say a good percentage of them had near new tents and camping supplies, including bed rolls, and cooking utensils, that they must have purchased from several different Eevil corporations!"
    • It certainly appeared to me that without the assistance of the "evil corporations" that these occupiers protested, they would not be communicating, or enjoying some of the nicer creature features of technology, which is another product, or by-product of "evil corporations.

IMHO - It seems like hypocrisy is behind their motives, which in my mind cancels out their anger and reasons for protesting those "evil corporations?" that they have patronized, in one way or the other!

They have a problem with the following basics or else just out for the fun of it not really understanding why they are protesting to begin with. Course, on the other hand those who have manipulated the market have walked away Scott free with their pockets lined with the money of others. Ill-gotten gain?

    1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

    2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

    3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

    4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

    5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I remember when I was growing up----we did a lot of "Tent" traveling---on vacation to the Ozarks, Smokies, Texas, Alabama---just wherever the '68 Chevy pickup took us----but we'd go home at the end of such and such time to "pay bills"-----nowadays---as in the case of the Occupiers---they can pay bills wheresoever they be at the moment

IDIOTS!!!!! Living out the things that Lenin and Stalin only dreamed of!!!

Lets not forget our little :1_grouphug:hug and meeting coming up, OK????

do you live around any of these communal Gatherings....if so, then pay them a visit....nothing better than 1to1 dialog to cut through & clarify. Id personally rather do that than pass judgment from my armchair...but thats me.

Think that the majority are ignorant to why they are protesting, as they have fallen for the "lies" spread saying that wealthy are screwing up the lives of all people under them...

Top 2 % americans money wise pay 38 % all fed taxes, and they are ones who can afford to invest into companies, businesses etc in order to have higher living standards for all...

problem is NOT small number really wealthy, its that we have a Government ay fed level who despises private business, loves public sector, and has tax and investment policies to make sure poor get poorer, as the rich not able to invest and grow their own money in order to create higher living(jobs) for all!

11/19/11 Weekend Grif.Net – For the Parents of the OWS Crowd

Posted on November 19, 2011 by Bob
[Traced this back - credit (I think) to Marybeth Hicks of the Washington
    Times]
Call it an occupational hazard, but I can’t look at the Occupy Wall Street
protesters without thinking, “Who parented these people?” As a culture
columnist, I’ve commented on the social and political ramifications of the
“movement” – now known as “OWS” – whose fairyland agenda can be summarized
by one of their placards: “Everything for everybody.”
Thanks to their pipe-dream platform, it’s clear there are people with
serious designs on “transformational” change in America who are using the
protesters like bedsprings in a brothel. Yet it’s not my role as a
commentator that prompts my parenting question, but rather the fact that I’m
the mother of four teens and young adults. There are some crucial life
lessons that the protesters’ moms clearly have not passed along.
Here, then, are five things the OWS protesters’ mothers should have taught
their children but obviously didn’t, so I will:
    1. LIFE ISN’T FAIR. The concept of justice – that everyone should be treated
fairly – is a worthy and worthwhile moral imperative on which our nation was
founded. But justice and economic equality are not the same. Or, as Mick
Jagger said, “You can’t always get what you want.” No matter how you try to
“level the playing field,” some people have better luck, skills, talents or
connections that land them in better places. Some seem to have all the
advantages in life but squander them, others play the modest hand they’re
dealt and make up the difference in hard work and perseverance, and some
find jobs on Wall Street and eventually buy houses in the Hamptons. Is it
    fair? Stupid question.
    2. NOTHING IS “FREE”. Protesting with signs that seek “free” college degrees
and “free” health care make you look like idiots, because colleges and
hospitals don’t operate on rainbows and sunshine. There is no magic money
machine to tap for your meandering educational careers and “slow paths” to
adulthood, and the 53 percent of taxpaying Americans owe you neither a
degree nor an annual physical. While I’m pointing out this obvious fact,
here are a few other things that are not free: overtime for police officers
and municipal workers, trash hauling, repairs to fixtures and property,
condoms, Band-Aids and the food that inexplicably appears on the tables in
your makeshift protest kitchens. Real people with real dollars are
    underwriting your civic temper tantrum.
    3. YOUR WORD IS YOUR BOND. When you demonstrate to eliminate student loan
debt, you are advocating precisely the lack of integrity you decry in
others. Loans are made based on solemn promises to repay them. No one forces
you to borrow money; you are free to choose educational pursuits that don’t
require loans, or to seek technical or vocational training that allows you
to support yourself and your ongoing educational goals. Also, for the
record, being a college student is not a state of victimization. It’s a
privilege that billions of young people around the globe would die for -
    literally.
    4. A PROTEST IS NOT A PARTY. On Saturday in New York, while making a mad
dash from my cab to the door of my hotel to avoid you, I saw what isn’t
evident in the newsreel footage of your demonstrations: Most of you are
doing this only for attention and fun. Serious people in a sober pursuit of
social and political change don’t dance jigs down Sixth Avenue like
attendees of a Renaissance festival. You look foolish, you smell gross, you
are clearly high and you don’t seem to realize that all around you are
    people who deem you irrelevant.
    5. THERE ARE REASONS YOU HAVEN’T FOUND JOBS. The truth? Your tattooed necks,
gauged ears, facial piercings and dirty dreadlocks are off-putting.
Non-conformity for the sake of nonconformity isn’t a virtue. Occupy reality:
Only 4 percent of college graduates are out of work. If you are among that 4
percent, find a mirror and face the problem. It’s not them. It’s you.

"Pass Judgement", EW&F? Pass Judgement from an armchair?

Has the word "reality" been erased from the English Language?

These people are on the street because they can't reason things out to begin with and you propose that on a one on one basis someone can reason with them? Not hardly. They are on a mission. Focused on only one thing. Like a rabbit dog on a scent.

These kinds of folks will only begin to see once they have been hurt.

Trying to reason with the Occupy people is like trying to reason with most environmentalists and vegetarians.

How inconsistent of you. You want to pass judgment on police from your arm chair but not the far left protestors.

Actually, I agree with Free on this. And no, based on the quote( from EWF) had nothing to do with the police.

Sorry, I thought this was an open post.

But I am still firm on my stand. Talking (peacefuly) to the OWS one-on-one is the best action

FAL has been condemning the UC Police officers based on a video only. He wasn't there and refuses to accept the reporting of the whole story. So his view in this thread is inconsistent with his position on the UC Davis police. Which seems to be driven by his hatred of ex-military.
