The Reason is Staring Us in Face....

.....we can't recognize this most-recent development in our society and economic makeup because it has come upon us in a gradual manner.

Like the old adage of the frog being dropped into a pot of cold water, and remaining there while he is boiled alive - vs - the frog dropped into a pot of boiling water and jumping out to save his life; Americans are not able to see that they have lost economic ground over the past fifteen to twenty years.

Those of us who have lived in the middle calls, especially the upper-middle class and are now struggling to make ends meet, can more quickly see that the "have-have not" economic divide has overtaken us.

Of course, this is my opinion.

Back in the early 1970s, my Theory of Social professor said that one day, there would be a have-vs-have not society in America. Funny how prophetic this prediction was. Alternatively, how sadly it is that in a nation that once had the strongest middle class in the world, there is now just two classes. :tear:

The devil has used the issue of financial class differences (whether such differences are real or not and whether such issues matter or not) to appeal to the greed resident in the unregenerate to overthrow whole societies. Obama is unfortunately of the persuasion that there is something inherently unfair about some people having more money than others, which is ridiculous.

Follishness, however, seems to be more popular among those who have cast off God, which our society is doing in greater measures today as we approach Armageddon. Congress has too many ignorant liberals who want to 'fix' the problem which doesn't actually exist, but which will exist if they are allowed their 'fix'.

American prosperity was driven in the past by hard work and hard work, and more of the same. The Bible says there is prosperity in labor, not in idleness. The American dream is evolving from one where a man could work hard and be rewarded with gains from those labors to one in which the unenlightened seek some sort of cradle to grave care package which concentrates on ease rather than work.

And keep in mind that 50% of all American Workers pay NO income tax (not just tax withholding). And that does not count those who are on govt assistance programs - welfare, food stamps (45 million), including for children of illegals (over 800,000); and those who have excessive govt payroll and retirement benefits. (this last link has an interest chart)

Let me add, I am not against retirement benefits, but some of these are way to generous.
